I wrote a long post at midnight two nights ago describing how someone was posting on my site deceptively. I described the hacking and threats/warnings [from whom I’m not sure, but the evidence points in a certain direction].
Anyone who thinks that a single individual can easily stand up to a corporation in court is dreaming. Unfortunately, some associations trail behind you like a ball and chain, dragging you down, no matter how hard you close your eyes and run away. The one thing that’s verboten in a masquerade is for someone to see through it.
Musing on how prone life is to imitating cheap fiction, I bought myself a small item of self-defense.
Writing is not a profession but a vocation of unhappiness

Update
The individual who owned the blogs was upset by my post. Actually, I posted no personal information, only the IP address, country and profession of the pseudonymous mail, not the letter with the real name. And I took the material down quickly on my own. A blog post in the middle of the night is a low-profile way to send a message.
What message? Something like, don’t post repeatedly under different names on a blog that’s just been attacked and where the blogger suspects stalking. The targeted blogger will justifiably assume you’re the culprit. Sorry….that’s the way it is.
I forget the german statesman (stresser?) who was anti-nazi who pointed out that people must have their daily illusion. In the U.S. its the myth of the state working in the inteest of the little guy and how a determined individual working in tandem with our god given institutions can knock down giants. Course it is fairly fantastic (some people do win the lottery) and when such events do occur (the little guy prevailing) they are made into a motion picure/fable and add to the myth. Of course many key details are omitted–key power brokers wanting their turn and using the cuase of the little guy as a trojan horse etc…..The little guy winning is a myth. For every Erin Brokovitch there are 1 million people destroyed by government, corporations often through such benign sounding things as family courts and social workers, employment policy, not being a team player. Actions do not have to be extreme, getting somebody fired leads to all sorts of things like credit destruction and limited work options–all making life hell–can;t get a job or a decent place to live without refernces and or work…The millions of ways peoples lives are destroyed in the U.S. daily boggles the mind actually. It really is nasty out there.
Very true, R. It goes to an earlier post on how the culture of entertainment and movies affects the way we make narratives out of our lives – misleadingly and dangerous. In the narratives, there is a wonderful Ennio Morriconi score playing behind us…we are Harmonica man and we have come to deliver final justice..
But in real life, Henry Fonda executes his man, kicks the body into a gulch and no one is the wiser. No background music, no Oscars..
Sometimes, also, the bodies are only metaphoric, as you say. Lost job..quick careening downhill…depression..ill-health… broken spirit..
That is why when people talk about civil resistance ala Gandhi, I have to wonder. If there’s no one to record the resistance or if the media manipulates the perception, how can anyone be mobilized?
Not just an experience, rather, chalk it up to a learning experience, uttered to me more than once.
“That is why when people talk about civil resistance ala Gandhi, I have to wonder. If there’s no one to record the resistance or if the media manipulates the perception, how can anyone be mobilized?”
The old, “if a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a noise” deal.?
The White Rose people were wasting their time?
More than sometimes, I think so.
I’m sure the media was just as controlled if not more so back then. In the case of the White Rose it was pockets of resistance rather than mobilized? So, in spite of the actions of the nationalist, afterwards, it’s not a total wipeout of the other side, for the rebuilding in the future?
But I see your point. All your points. You make good points. The more I learn the more nothing makes sense, yet at the same time everything makes more sense. Does that make sense?
“Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble, if I stay it will be double.”

The media was manipulated but I don’t think it was as pervasively manipulated in India – not the vernacular press, for sure.
But before world war I, for eg., telegraph cables with the continent were cut so the British public couldn’t really read accurate reports of what was going on and it could be propagandized into war.
Re: telegraph wires cut…
So it’s not about the people who support the occupation, how much they know or if they are ok with the way things are being done, financing or anything else, for the most part. It’s about the people being occupied and oppressed, it’s about what they think, and how they feel.
From the movie Gandhi, I recall the reporter saying it’s all over for the British Empire’s rule in India at the moment the British soldiers started bashing the skulls of non-violent Indians lined up to get salt. The majority of the -oppressed- no longer supported their oppressors.
Much like one man directing a herd of cattle, get the lead cow and a few others behind it to go a particular way and one man is in control of all. Once the herd, for whatever reason, decides to go a certain other direction, there is no stopping it, no matter what the lead cow and the following cows are doing.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve seen people mention, the armed public far outnumber them that rule. Same applies to places like Iraq nowadays. Make the right number of a certain segment of the population turn against you and it doesn’t matter what the military might is of those who occupy.
It’s all a head-game and popular opinion, the mood, the consensus, plus, how people feel, not so much what the radio and TV say.
So the odds of what the future trend is here, will be determined by the numbers?
How many, armed and determined to be free Americans are there vs. how many determined fascist pig Obamatrons are there?
Do you know the ratio?
Who is more determined?
