I think that the lesson here is that we all need to make sure our affairs are in order and that we have legal documents as to who watches us and our finances in the event that we are deemed “incapacitated.” It’s difficult to think that someday we may not be able to think clearly, but if we live long enough that will probably be the case. The time to make sure somebody has our back is now, not then. What a gut-wrenchingly sad story.
Nice trial run. What a great way to prop up the dying state medical monopoly that is coming, and just in time for the baby boomers.
