China’s leaders may press at the Group of 20 summit for specific steps to protect its more than $1 trillion of dollar assets as U.S. fiscal policies risk sparking a “currency war,” a senior Chinese researcher said.The dollar weakened after the Federal Reserve said March 18 it would buy as much as $300 billion of Treasuries and the U.S. this week outlined plans to buy as much as $1 trillion of illiquid bank assets.
U.S. purchases of Treasuries are “irresponsible” because they may weaken the dollar, Li Xiangyang, of the government- backed Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told a forum in Beijing today. “Chinese leaders are likely to articulate their concern to their U.S. counterparts strongly and ask for specific measures.”

I’m all for self-defense…
Frankly, if we had a few private armies not under the thumbs of the Feds, now would be the time to ride them into DC, round up a few of the senior managers (more accurately, ex-managers) at the banks, haul them off, and put them on trial for financial high crimes.
And while they’re at it, they can pick up Rumsfeld, Cheney and Co., Greenspan, Rubin and a few others too. No tears will be shed.
Then we’ll be able to really put the paper trail together….

The rapture not noted explicitly but apparently the fellow in the article moved out of the City in anticipation of some calamity per the advise of Doug North. I am all for self defense, but troubled by the shooting of stray dogs–for what I read to be toughening up on the part of the shooter. i.e.e shooting dogs for personal growth. Rabid pitbulls perhaps–two beagle sized mutts—common Lila that is not self defense….
I am all for withholding taxes from these thieves, bringing leaders to account. I would alos take it further rid ourselves of most news media and all subsidies. The trouble with guys in rural oklahoma taking it upon themelves to rid the area of strays is that soon their portfolio will expand to other strays–people or people from other countries etc……I too am a menkenite tory but I do like dogs and do not like violence directed at the blameless. Me? I would have taken the dogs in and if we got along kept them or if not looked for a home for them. I would however not hesitate to shoot at somebody who could shoot back or for food…..

Anyway, I didn’t read the piece closely and didn’t think too hard about it. I love strays myself – although rescuing them often ends up teaching you that some things really can’t be rescued…
