Nope. Laura Nyro is the original song writer and an under recognized genius of soul.
Blood Sweat and Tears, Fifth Dimension, Three Dog Night, all made hits with her tunes while she remained relatively unknown except for a handful of devout fans.
Their covers are pleasant but commercial sounding to my ears.
