A Response From Naomi Wolf To My Post

From the Comments on my post, “Naomi Wolf and Fiat Law” (which I’ve since corrected)

Naomi W here — I am a big believer in crediting sources. I have not read your work before now. But I do want to note that the quote you use and attribute to me is actually a quote from Michael Ratner of the Center for Constitutional Rights. I was interviewing him in that piece.

But it is always good to have crosspartisan dialogue and I will certainly explore your work — yours Naomi

    Ms. Wolf –

    I stand corrected.

And I apologize for the mistake (and have immediately corrected it), although I think it doesn’t alter my larger point about memes

  1. Hi –

No problem. I like Naomi W. too (and I like Naomi K. too – her writing, I mean – but some of it is not honest. Perhaps unintentionally).
As a matter of fact, I believe I’ve defended Naomi W. a couple of times – once in relation to a personal attack on her by Melanie Morgan and another time in relation to Joey Kurtzman’s take down of her.

Nothing personal. It’s not an attack on left-liberals either. I am just showing you how propaganda works. Words and phrases lose the original sense in which they were used, get taken into another narrative. This particular instance was so slight, it probably didn’t matter. But others are not.
