Just as birthers show an untoward preoccupation with Barack Obama’s birth certificate, shooters spend an inordinate amount of time looking for “green shoots” in the economy. Where everyone else sees dry brown weeds, shooters see lush tropical foliage with jobs flowering, the stock market surging, a glint in Jim Cramer’s eyes, and a song on every broker’s lips.Most psychiatrists consider shooters dangerously delusional. They note that shooters often overlap as a group with anti-Sinites. Greenspan, for example, is both an anti-Sinite and a shooter.
A small radical group of psychologists, however, claims that shooters are harmless visionaries, no different from the people who claim to see little green men or leprechauns. Following intense lobbying by these radicals, shooters were reclassified in the DSM-IV as suffering from a personality disorder rather than a psychosis.
[A sub-class of the shooter is the para-shooter. Para-shooters, as their name suggests, are a parasitic group, largely made up of incompetent CEOs and bureaucrats. Para-shooters, while usually not shooters themselves, depend on shooters to hang onto their perks and privileges. This is especially true of one variant of para-shooter, the golden para-shooter. Golden para-shooters are nearly always full-blown psychopaths].

Regaring your statement:

Not quite: “hate-speech” is, ironically, “indexed” according to the size and power
of the particular minority’s lobby, against which said “hate” is lobbed– quite
opposite logical factors, such as the particular group’s actual need for protection,
or lack of power. Along with the power to sway politicians, other factors also
pertain to a group’s “deserved” level of societal protection– both political and
stigmatic– such as their ability to cause riots, wage costly lawsuits, draw popular
public sympathy and support, incite boycotts etc. In essence, in the arena of
polital correctness, it is clear that might of one’s oppressed minority makes right.
(When I say “ironically,” I mean it)
Hence, for example, mainstream truth-benders such as Rush Limbaugh can defame
powerless groups (known as “safe targets” with such negative epithets as (what he
calls) “fat, ugly redheads,” but would soil himself at the very thought of
equivalent phrases against groups which are so powerful that they have validated
ther oppressed status with actual changes to the in mainstream language, with terms
such as “racism” and “anti-semitism” (as said Limbaugh discovered when he tripped
over such a million-volt “third-rail,” and found his foot in his mouth– and himself
out of a much-loved job at ESPN– as well as hoisted on his own spitoon…
irrespective of the comparative mildness and factual accuracy of the speech he
uttered: again, it’s not about how far you cross the line– but whose line you’re
crossing..
In fact, these powerful minority-factions themselves fiercely laud and brandish
their own “victim-status” as far more deserved than these other “nobody” minorities,
to the point of wrath and scorn at any feeble minority who should dare to compare
their powerless selves with the Uber-victims’ own superior and hard-fought
“oppressed” status.
In short, “protected status” is clearly established as being not a right, but a
privilege which must be earned by the degree to which one no longer needs it.

I live in the confused conservative South. It’s hard to come across
folks who see the State shams for what they are, let alone make
creative sobering comedy out of them. I browse LRC frequently and
first saw one of your articles posted there.
When you can make thinking stressed adults laugh in the face of harsh
realities, you are doing the world some good. Better than 1,000 points
of light. Thank you and keep up the good work.

I am glad to see you are back in action again with a good sense of humor.The
dot com scam was a test run
Dear Ms. Rajiva,
I have been reading your columns posted on Lew Rockwell.com for many months now, perhaps a year, I’d say. I feel compelled to record that I am very deeply moved by your scholarship and critical thinking faculties, not to mention what I intuit to be a highly developed spiritual grounding of your social and individual belief system.
Please forgive me for acting on my need to communicate my admiration for you.
This is actually something I’ve done only once before, when, a year or two ago, I expressed my delight with a particular column which Mr. Rockwell had written. Of course, I knew him personally, having met him at a conference where the redoubtable Professor Rothbard was speaking in Cambridge, Massachussetts.
Today, I feel an even greater need to facilitate you on your accomplishments. Truly, the Rothbards and the Rockwells of the world, not to mention a legion of others, on whose shoulders they wittingly or unwittingly stand, have not lived in vain. Truly the light they have held up has illuminated your way – sorry, there are no puns resident here – and I am hopeful that one day you too will light up the way for others yet to follow.
