Hiding Your “Assets” Off-Shore

Aha!. More vindication for arguments I made in 2004 and 2005:

“[I]ncreasingly, after years of issuing denials, Lithuania’s leaders are no longer ruling out the possibility that the CIA operated a secret prison in this northern European country of 3.5 million people, and that its government will have to deal with the fallout.

Last month, newly elected President Dalia Grybauskaite said she had “indirect suspicions” that the CIA reports might be true, and urged Parliament to investigate more thoroughly.”

Hat-tip to Glenn Greenwald for the link (http://www.salon.com/news/opinion/glenn_greenwald/).

Check out some of my articles from 2004 and 2005:

“Hiding Off-shore Assets,” Dissident Voice, November 7, 2005

Note: The CIA has always called its operatives “assets,” even before the business model was actively adopted by the Agency.

  1. Ok, so if the CIA ran a prison in that itty bitty country and nobody knows anything.

How many do we have in the USA?

No privacy for ANY government agency, employees,or entity on tax payer welfare.

  2. Ah people still call for action via simple knee jerk solutions. Sad really. The real thing to consider is that we cannot stop momentum and in fact it was the arrogance of people who wanted to remake the world that caused all of our present woes. There has always been a chunk of humanity wanting to instill its vision on the others. To do this requires, force, lying, duplicity and all other sorts of things usual in the guise of saving or doing good.

The real issue for americans primarily is the fact that reality is knocking on the door harder every day. The delusions of the greatness and kindness of america, the saintliness of electing a black president, the brains and ingenuity of americans, best (put in health, justice and economy here) are being tested daily. The cia secret prisons, the ever obvious incompetence of the political class, widespread corruption, contrived crisis such as killer bees, global warming, swine flu are all a pastiche of reality. Most americans will have a hard time reacting to the reality and so will the politicians. When peoples sense of reality becomes challenged they become dangerous. Both government and the people in usa will become increasingly dangerous as they have a sort of collective psychotic break,

Of course there will remain millions of imbeciles who will say it was the republicans or democrats fault and that we need to elect new leaders to fix everything! Such faith is not inspirting but rather depressing,

  3. Robert –

“Nothing can be done” isn’t what people want to hear. I’ve noticed that.

I would tweak that a bit. I think we can do things to improve the situation..but in a much smaller, piece meal fashion.

Get your own finances in order, don’t swallow media propagnda without questioning, don’t enable fraud, theft, and murder, no matter which side is doing it. That would be a start.

  4. Wow R, you are on a roll, again, very well said.

GYST… eh Lila? (Get Your Stuff Together) and don’t be a part of the problem. But… isn’t simply paying taxes, working W2 or I-99, or buying anything off the black market in support of the problem?
