I’m traveling again, so this blog has been taking a back seat for a week or so, which is a shame, because I have a bunch of articles that are crying to be finished.
Anyway, I first thought I’d just post pieces without commenting, but looking for what I think are blogworthy tidbits of information is as time-consuming as writing an original comment or post myself, so for now, I’ll just sign off for a couple of weeks to take care of things.

By the way, I saw some more of my web stalkers posts on Indymedia. What do you think, should I respond? Or still just ignore the lies?
Not sure. On one hand, they usually tell you to ignore it. On the other hand, that doesn’t seem to work.
Here’s what I planned to write in response:
Indymedia continues to republish posts libeling me.
To address just a few of the dozens of outright falsehoods in this post:
1. I do not know and have never corresponded with Porter Stansberry or James Davidson. I certainly am not “covering up” for them or anyone else. Indeed, many of the allegations/facts cited by this poster have actually been taken without attribution from research/comments first posted at my blog and then twisted around to suit this poster’s agenda.
2. I did not remove Mr. Davidson’s name from anywhere in wiki, nor have I ever corresponded with Gary Weiss on wiki (or anywhere else) about Davidson (or anything else). That can be verified by looking up the record at wiki. In fact, I contribute to DeepCapture, which is highly CRITICAL of Mr. Weiss. I encountered and corresponded with “Mantanmoreland,” when I came across his address and comments at several internet forums, including the comment section at the SEC, where it was THIS POSTER who brought him up:

4. I have never sold a stock in my life nor have I sold a stock in a tip sheet. Any investment analysis I have ever offered can be seen at my blog under the tab, “Lila at The Daily Reckoning.” On the other hand, the poster is a well-known basher from the stock forum of a notorious 9-11-related criminal (Elgindy) and has multiple ties with other stock manipulators (both long and short) and with proven extortioners and felons. He lives abroad and posts under multiple false names and email addresses.
5. I worked as a part-time contract editor/writer for Bill Bonner’s Daily Reckoning column, where I did research, editing and writing from late 2005-early 2006 up to the fall of 2007. I know nothing about the other departments of his company and was never involved with anyone else there. Most of the time I worked, I was not even in the US but traveling around the world. I worked through the internet and had very limited contact with anyone except Mr. Bonner. I returned to the US in 2007 for the publication of the book and for some publicity work, and then again left to go abroad, shortly after the release of the book.
6. If the poster has a problem with Davidson or Stansberry, it is very odd that he should spend his time bashing various bystanders. Why does he not just sue them directly?
7. My contract on the book was with John Wiley and my royalties are paid through them. The word Agora is not mentioned anywhere in that contract. Any promotion of the book that I do is as a co-author with contractual obligation to publicize the book. It has nothing to do with promoting Agora or its investment letters. I have never been paid to blog, nor have I sought any other compensation or advantage from blogging. Quite the contrary.
8. I have never harassed or stalked this poster. The opposite is true. I contacted this poster in 2005 before writing my book with Bonner, to find out more about allegations he (the poster) had plastered over the net about Agora. He sent me reams of information alleging a vast fraud centered around an investment of his with Mr. Davidson. At my interview I asked Mr. Bonner, as well as Mr. Wiggin, if Davidson still worked there. They said no and distanced themselves from Davidson. I told the poster that (as can be seen from the email he has cited) and had no further exchange with him until 2007 November when I left the company because of differences over promotion of the book, copyright, and other matters. I felt I had been treated very shabbily and thought I should find out more. At that point, the poster found from my blog that I was a Ron Paul supporter and had had some articles published on the Lew Rockwell site. This changed his attitude toward me, which until then had been respectful and even admiring. He flew into a vulgar rage and flamed my blog with dozens of posts calling me a “stock fraud,” “bimbo,” “con artist,” “” and so on. I still have half a dozen of these nasty messages saved for documentation should I ever have the chance to sue him, although that would be difficult since he hides in a hut in Guatemala. Meanwhile, in my response, I only asked the poster very civilly why he couldn’t have just asked me any questions over email rather than take it to the internet (see email cited).
That’s the sum of my correspondence with him, a total of 4 polite letters over 2 years, the first two quite sympathetic to his story and one message no more than a sentence in length. This the poster calls “stalking.”
On the other hand, since November 2007 it is the poster who has pseudonymously flamed my blog dozens of time, all the while libeling me on the web in long, vicious rants connecting me to everyone from the Pentagon shooter to Christopher Cox, in multiple highly-visible forums on the web. He has attacked me every time I try to correct his false statements. He has also attacked me every time I post about a conference or business contact. The object is obviously to cause me maximum personal and professional damage, with no concern for the truth of falsity of what he’s saying. His writing exhibits distinct elements of sadism and emotional fixation, which are part of the classic profile of stalking.
What’s more, I strongly suspect that someone or other must be paying him to write like this, since he has no known means of support and has admitted to being penniless. Since he rarely if ever criticizes.mentions the major banks and speculators involved in the largest fraud on our capital markets in a century, it’s more than plausible that his rants are part of a smoke- screen to discourage those who question the Federal Reserve and senior bankers. This does not mean his targets are necessarily innocent. It means that neither is he.
It might interest readers to know that 5-6 years ago I also lost a large sum of money following something I read in a newsletter. However, my reaction to the loss was different. I chose to discipline myself. I learned to do due diligence before investing. Libel is as surely a crime as theft; slander is as serious an injury as physical attack.
9. Any information related to the issues cited has been disclosed on my blog carefully not to “cover up” (a quite laughable allegation, given my outspokenness about them both in person and on the web), but to avoid legal trouble and respect the right to privacy and presumption of innocence of the individuals named. Claiming to be an “activist” or acting in “the public interest” does not mean you are allowed to be defamatory with impunity, even under current first amendment law.
10. Hundreds of malicious, sweeping, undocumented, and highly speculative allegations do nothing to add to the poster’s credibility (or to Indymedia’s) nor does it help “expose wrong-doing.” It only serves to make a mockery of community media and hinder the efforts of genuine activists/journalists.
One wonders if such posts would be allowed if the targets had not been libertarians but socialists.
I seriously doubt it.

Yes, I shouldn’t ask, what was it, just out of curiosity. No need to answer. I’m guessing your stalker lost money on it too, all on his own, can’t get over it and blames you?
What a mess, a real tar baby. His stuff seems to be writing on the boys bathroom wall? HAHAHA Create a link and title it ‘Disclaimers’ for those interested in that sort of thing (or do nothing more, what you did was a lot) and get out to that pool and forget for awhile. The emotion around that first post is so much better than the second.
To get away from “the ignorance at both ends of the spectrum” is good to do sometimes I think.
I know there are lots of girls that want a huskie, I don’t have a dog right now, I’m a bit envious too, enjoy him/her.

We take a lot of walks, even though he doesn’t like the sun.
Unfortunately there are some undersized but nasty cats in the neighborhoods, so we have to exercise a bit of caution.
