Who Reads Me…

Just browsed my quantcast profile, which, for some reason, stopped receiving data the past couple of weeks.

I’m read by more men (over 66%) than women.  By more Caucasians than any other group – 77%. 8% of my readers are Asian (next highest demographic). 7% are black (not sure if this means African-American?). 6% are Hispanic.

My readers are mostly over 35 years (29% over 35, 28% over 50 years).

They earn over $100,000 a year (43%), have college degrees (38%) but no  children (66%).

They’re mostly based in Modesto, New York, London, Houston, St. Petersburg (FL), Toronto, Vancouver, and Mumbai. They’re mostly Texans and Californians. Many work at bigger businesses. For some reason, Northern Trust is one of them.

Which means that childless white males most likely in finance/business are my readers.

Strange. I thought I’d get a more lefty-bohemian-funky crowd.

The US, Canada, UK, and India are the top three countries my readers come from. But I also have readers in Uruguay, Costa Rica, Japan, Russia, Brazil, and Lebanon.

About 70% of my traffic comes from 28%% of my readers – the addicts regulars….**

What can I say? Thanks to you all…

**Update, June 13, 2010: Since I wrote that, the numbers have changed, but since I don’t quite follow how they get these numbers in the first place, I’ll let it stand…)

  1. Well, I am an Indian (Asian), male, over 50 and from Vancouver. Guess I am an endangered species as far as your blog readership goes.
Keep up the good work, Lila.

  2. Not sure how one gets into a “quantcast” profile. Must say that in my case it’s pretty accurate. But if only someone could see past my wrinkles and into my teenage brain; well then . . . .

  3. People who are “old” when they are young tend to be “young” when they are old.

My blog code slipped, so the analytical sites don’t really track me correctly. Also, I had no activity for over a month

And I know Alexa is horribly gamed.

  4. Im a male-leftist-anarchist-bohemian-public-defender from West Virginia.

You have a good site, Lila.

I use a howling wolf picture myself, on another
    site, btw.

    Carry on,
    Mark
