What occurred seems to be somewhat straight forward- Vedic civilization was indigenous and Dravidian free until immediately post Mahabharata era when Dravidians started arriving via Seistan into IVC where they left some traces and gradually worked their way down to the South (Megalith cultures don’t go before 1000 BC and neither does sangam literature)
By the time they settled down by the Coramandel coast, the proto Sinhalas were already in Sri Lanka and the modern Tamil identity was shaped by the warlike and aggressive proto Dravidians wishing to take over what they is their backyard

I had phrased that poorly. I meant to say that she was the first women not of north western origin to commit Sati.
