The tenets of Eastern Orthodoxy are much more like  the teachings of Jesus Christ to me than Western Christianity, which sounds more like “disputes about  the teachings of Jesus Christ.”

And, without the specifics, they sound quite close to the Bhakthi tradition in the East.
