Although I’m not willing to credit this until November 27 rolls around, the headlines are quite explicit:

India is launching the e-visa system (electronic authorization) on November 27, and the US is on the list of countries to be included,  along with Germany, Israel, Palestine, Russia, and Brazil….making some 43 countries in all.

I sincerely hope this is the real thing, since we’ve had a number of false starts, trial balloons, and gaseous PR emissions from 2012 onward about the new visa system.

US citizens of Indian origin, a hapless lot, routinely fleeced by their motherland through every-changing visa requirements and hefty fees can shove some of that mountain of bureaucratic paper they usually need into the waste-bin.

This is no exaggeration.

To get a simple, garden-variety 6 month tourist visa to India requires (at last count) one detailed online application that asks for your parents’ birthplaces; four administrative forms (a declaration, an order form, a waiver, and something else I’ve forgotten);  proof of your residence proof of your former Indian citizenship; proof of your renunciation of your former Indian citizenship; your passport, as well as copies of your passport and copies of your former passport; two checklists, one to be submitted in duplicate; a complex form for payment which costs $50 just for the postage.

The whole thing sets you back about $150, which is almost 25% of the cost of a cheap-cheap round-trip fare to India.

And THAT fare is made up about 30% of government fees.

The “for-profit” devils of the airline industry somehow manage to shuttle you across ocean and continent in record time, feeding and entertaining you all the way with various local lovelies at your beck and call, all for the price of  an upscale room in a major city….whereas the “public servants” manage to spend nearly as much just to get through some increasingly nosy paper-work.

Meanwhile, who is running this consular snoop-fest which Indian-origin US citizens – and no other – must go through?

After living in Sri Lanka for 30 years and having a number of Tamil, Sinhala and Muslim friends, I can guarantee you that there hadn’t been any discrimination on Northern Tamils to start a separatist war.

Since our independence, however, Tamils lost a lot of privileges awarded to them by the colonial rulers, the British, which they may have lost to the majority when democracy returned to Sri Lanka and open competition took place.

My guarantee means nothing to anyone; therefore, I would like to share some facts and links.

There are more Tamils living with Sinhalese than with the LTTE.

            1971 census: 20,514 (2.9%)

            1981 census: 5,648 (0.7%)

            2007 census: 67 Sinhalese (0.01%)

            Tamils living in the South:

            1971 29.2%

            1981 32.8%

LTTE has killed more Tamils than Sinhalese

Out of 30 political leaders, mostly MPs,  LTTE assassinated, the majority (18) were Tamils.

Libertarian legal activist, Bruce Fein, has covered up the real “Turkish” (read, Donmeh Jewish) genocide of Armenians, even while acting as a paid propagandist for false genocidal claims against Sri Lanka.

He, of course, is Bruce Fein – occupation: Resident scholar at the Turkish Coalition of America. The title tells it all. He is gainfully employed to support and propagate Turkish denial policy of the Armenian Genocide. For a lawyer and a former U.S. associate deputy attorney general serving under Ronald Reagan from 1981 to 1982, one expects him to confine within certain restrictions of ethical conduct and integrity.

Unfortunately, we may be asking too much of Mr. Fein. His acts and conduct seem to be determined only by his employment, irrespective of logic, rational, principles and truthfulness. Two years ago, he was campaigning for the terrorist Tamil movement against the government of Sri Lanka in return for lucrative pecuniary handouts from the Sri Lankans of Tamil origin residing in the United States and Canada. In 2008, within the span of six months, one after the other he consecutively served at least three Tamil associations carrying on fundraisers in the U.S. and Canada. With the third association, he engaged in a massive fundraiser in Canada. After collecting the “loot”, he disappeared for three months.

While in the service of Tamil, Mr. Fein’s mission was twofold. First, to convince the U.S. that Tamils of Sri Lanka are the victims of genocide. Second, to convince the U.S. that Tamils of Sri Lanka deserve justice by partitioning Sri Lanka and granting the Tamils independent statehood. To justify his claim for genocide of Tamils, he made up stories and twisted the law on genocide. To substantiate his claim for Tamil independence, he resorted to our Declaration of Independence. To pursue his dual mission, he made speeches and got paid; he made appearances and got paid; he published articles and got paid.

At the same time, Mr. Fein was (and still is) in the service of Turkish “associations” operating in the U.S. With the Turks, as with the Tamils, his mission is again twofold, but this time in the opposite direction. First, to convince the United States that Armenians were not the victims of genocide. Second, to convince the United States that Armenians do not deserve justice. To justify his denial of Armenian Genocide, he makes up stories and twists the law on genocide. To substantiate his refusal of justice to the Armenians, he accuses them of perjury and falsehood. In the pursuit of his dual mission for the Turks, he makes speeches, makes appearances, publishes articles, and so on. For his services, he gets paid, of course…..

. If Mark Twain were alive today, he would have looked upon Mr. Fein’s egregious conduct and said, “There are three kinds of liars: liars, damn liars, and Mr. Fein.”

….Mr. Fein seems to be haunted by the number of 1.5 Armenian victims of Turkish atrocities. Any human being would be and should be. But the motivation of this servant of Turkish denial does not stem from human concerns. He resorts to a numbers game by quoting and misquoting any convenient source to demonstrate that the figure of 1.5 million victims of genocide is the figment of Armenian imagination that it tends to increase the numbers according to political convenience.

This numbers game is merely an exercise in futility, because Mr. Fein is well aware of the Mehmet Talaat Pasha’s handwritten black book published in facsimile form in December 2008. Talaat Pasha was the Ottoman minister of interior in 1915 and the architect in planning and executing the deportations and massacres of the Armenians living in their ancestral Western Armenia. The black book contains detailed notes on the numbers of Armenians and the fate they encountered from 1915 to 1917. Based on the figures kept by Talaat Pasha, in 1915, before massacres and deportations, the total of the main Apostolic Armenian community in the Ottoman Empire was 1,500,000; the total of Catholic Armenian community was 63,967 (which could also be revised upward to 83,157); no figures are given to Protestant Armenians. These figures bring the number of Ottoman Armenians, based on official figures, close to 1,700,000 people. According to Talaat Pasha’s figures, the total number of Armenians who were missing in 1917 was around 1,000,000 people.

The executioner Talaat Pasha has kept the figures up to 1917. His numbers for the missing are horrendous – ONE MILLION. Mind you, the deportations and massacres did not cease in 1917. They continued until 1923. Mr. Fein and his employers are in pursuit of a policy of denial in order to protect, among others, the Ottoman executioners such as Talaat and other Ottoman Pashas. If they are so dedicated to protect these executioners, why won’t Mr. Fein and his employers take these Pashas’ word for the number of Armenian victims of Genocide?

The answer is very simple. Mr. Fein (and his employers) are scared stiff of the verdict of genocide that will come down sooner or later. But to convince oneself that reducing the number of the victims of the Armenian Genocide will preclude the application of the Genocide Convention is merely self-deceit. Mr. Fein should know, because he claims to be an international lawyer. The Genocide Convention is not about the number of victims. It is about retribution and prevention.

Furthermore, despite Mr. Fein’s claims, the Genocide Convention does apply to the Armenian case. The design, planning, execution and intent of the Turkish massacres of 1.5 million Armenians meet all the elements of the crime of genocide as defined under the Convention. In fact, Raphael Lemkin, who was the earliest proponent of the Genocide Convention, coined the term ‘genocide’ in 1944. based on the case of the Armenian massacres. He described genocide as the “systematic destruction of a whole national, racial or religious groups. The sort of thing that Hitler did to the Jews and the Turks did to the Armenians.”

Of course, to get the whole picture of what is happening here, one should know that the “Turkish” massacre was perpetrated by Sabbatean Frankist Jews who converted to Islam (the Donmeh)

just as  the founder of  Sabbateanism, Sabbatai Zevi,  had done earlier.

Zevi, a descendant of rabbis, considered himself the Jewish messiah.

One should further know that the Donmeh

infiltrated the Ottoman government,

created the Young Turk movement,

and instigated the massacre of Armenians.

One should also know that the Armenians who were massacred were Christians.

One should know that Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire (and of modern Turkey) is Constantinople, the capital of the Eastern half of the Roman empire.

This eastern half  became the Byzantine empire, which was the strong-hold of institutional Christianity in Eurasia for a thousand years, before it fell to the Muslims.

Thus, what we have is a genocidal massacre of Christians by Jews in 1915,  shortly before the Bolsheviks (headed disproportionately  by  Jews) embarked on another monumental massacre of Christians  (this time in nearby Russia).

In  any other part of the world this would be seen for what it is – the fruit of  ancient tribal/religious  enmity.

In any other part of the world, the culture and religion of the perpetrators would be held up for at least some criticism, certainly not that of the victims.

In the West, however, not only the identity of the actors, but even the nature of the conflict, its  tribalism, is covered up.

It is passed off instead as democide by government.

This is an assessment that has the failing of mistaking the gun for the killer.

Naturally, its logical result is a policy of proscribing guns rather than convicting killers.

I have long intuited that the reiteration in the alternative media of the phrase, “Sunlight is the best disinfectant” is not happen-stance.

It is a deliberate meme being seeded into public consciousness.

The meme demands transparency for national government and governmental organizations, while NGOs, left and right-wing non-profits, and corporations in the service of the New World Order can continue to operate secretively to achieve the goals of global government, outside the purview of laws or standards of accountability to which nation states are held.

Some iterations of the “sunlight/sunshine” meme in recent times:

1. Julian Assange’s Wikileaks was set up by the Sunshine Press.

WL was created around 2006 and went public in 2007.

2. The Sunlight Foundation, funded by government and set up in 2006 is committed to public transparency. Its advisors and directors are listed at wikipedia as follows:

4.  Influential libertarian scholar and Ron Paul supporter and anti-Intellectual Property activist,  Walter Block (10/17/2014) in a much-publicized uproar about his alleged remarks supporting slavery:

“Sunlight is the best disinfectant.”

In my view, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Let us by all means implement their proposal. Let us have a university-wide open hearing to decide if I am to be condemned and censured for my views on slavery.”

Note:

Block has vociferously argued against IP (Intellectual Property), against the property value of one’s reputation, and against libel laws specifically….but, as usual with him,  he has no qualms about using state libel laws to defend his own IP and threaten to sue for millions on that ground.

This is the not first or only instance of Block’s  intellectual double-dealing and it is a prime reason why I have fingered him on this blog many times for sophistry, as well as for possibly being some kind of NWO operative.

On the other hand, Block is quite interesting and engaging, even when dead wrong…as long as you don’t take him seriously, which I don’t…

1. Libertarian legal activist and Ron Paul supporter, Bruce Fein (2009):

“Sunshine is the best disinfectant,” said Fein in response to Khan’s question, which asked him “what is the way forward.”

Fein has been a hired-gun of foreign groups, making him in effect a foreign agent. 

He is also anti-IP and a judicial activist of the same variety as Francis Boyle.

That is, Boyle and Fein pursue political ends via self-styled free-market legal activism, which on closer inspection proves to be nothing of the sort.

Left-wing antiwar, pro-porn, pro-therapeutic-genital- massage, pro-Assange, pro-Ron Paul, vaginal hagiographer, Naomi Wolf, explaining why she had to come out decades after the fact with sensational and unverifiable claims of being groped by her professor at Yale, thus creating a brouhaha as senseless as the one Dr. Block just created:

6. Barack Obama in remarks in 2009 on the economy, stressing the need for government to become more efficient:

Because I firmly believe with Justice Brandeis that sunlight is the best disinfectant, and I know that restoring transparency is not only the surest way to achieve results, but also to earn back that trust in government without which we cannot deliver the changes the American people sent us here to make.”

1. The late left-wing “hacktivist” Aaron Swartz  (November 20, 2006),  protege of Sunshine Foundation-affiliated Harvard professor and anti-Intellectual Property activist, Lawrence Lessig: “Disinfecting the Sunlight Foundation….”

Swartz pursued the Fein model of activism from the more overtly leftist side, using hacking, rather than litigation, to achieve political ends.

Taking its name from Justice Brandeis’s famed comment that “Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants”, the Sunlight Foundation was formed to promote transparency and accountability in American government.”

8. UN Watch, which claims that it is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that monitors the United Nations, floats the meme, while calling for the removal of UN Human Rights Council official, Richard Falk, for allegedly anti-Israel and anti-Semitic statements:

“Sunlight is the best disinfectant, wrote Justice Brandeis, and that’s why Falk wants to shut us down—so his despicable abuses can proliferate in the dark,” said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer.”

According to UN Watch’s own website, it was formed in 1993

“under the chairmanship of the late Morris B. Abram, pioneer civil rights leader with Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and former U.S. ambassador to the UN in Geneva” and it

” participates actively at the UN as an accredited NGO in Special Consultative Status to the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and as an Associate NGO to the UN Department of Public Information (DPI).”

It is affiliated, the website states,  with the American Jewish Committee.

A New York  Times  obituary for Mr. Abram in 2000, adds the following fascinating details:

UN Watch was co-founded by Mr. Abram and Edgar Bronfman, who heads the Bronfman Seagram liquor empire and who is one of the most prominent funders of Zionist causes, including the Hillel campus movement.

Abrams, the descendant of a Reform rabbi settled in Georgia, was influential in fighting segregation, started housing projects for middle-class blacks, and held dozens of high-level government and UN posts.

As a student at Oxford after WW II, he was also on the staff of the prosecutors at the Nuremberg military tribunal. A former president of the American Jewish Committee and an advocate for the emigration of Soviet Jews, he was also a president of Brandeis University.

His voice is as much the voice of Zionism and its creators as  it is possible to be…and it is plausible to infer that any meme he articulated was one dear to Zionism, especially one created by Louis Brandeis, a legendary early 20th century American jurist of Jewish extraction.

So, finally, what has  Louis Brandeis got to do with Zionism and the New World Order?

He was a Rothschild agent, writes Dr. Ahmed El-Meadawy.

During World War I, Brandeis was appointed to the US Supreme Court in return for a $40,000 donation to President Woodrow Wilson’s campaign. From there he was instrumental in sending a Zionist delegation from the US to the UK, promising to bring in the US into WW I on the side of Britain in return for a British promise to create a homeland for the Jews in Palestine, then under British rule.

The originator of this dictum of perfect transparency for the goy political regimes under which he lived,  Louis Brandeis was himself a member of a highly secretive and covert group dedicated to political ends of  his own – Zionist ends.

In “Against Our Better Judgment: The hidden history of how the US was used to create Israel,” (2014), Alison Weir writes:

Grose writes that Brandeis used the Parushim “as a private intellectual cadre, a pool of manpower for various assignments.” [45] Brandeis recruited ambitious young men, often from Harvard, to work on the Zionist cause – and further their careers in the process.”

Just to be clear, my previous blog posts referencing the extensive Christian-NGO backing of the Tamil Tigers is not to be read as an indictment of Christianity, as such.

Learn to use a thesaurus.” This section also contained a number of hints for de-railing conversations that went too far away from what we were attempting. Each popular poster was classified as “hostile,” “friendly,” or “indifferent” to my goal. We were supposed to cultivate friendship with the friendly posters as well as the mods (basically, by brownnosing and sucking up), and there were even notes on strategies for dealing with specific hostile posters. The info was pretty detailed, but not perfect in every case. “If you can convert one of the hostile posters from the enemy side to our side, you get a nice bonus. But this doesn’t happen too often, sadly. So mostly you’ll be attacking them and trying to smear them.”

…..A lot of my job was de-railing and spamming threads that didn’t go our way, or making accusations of racism and anti-Semitism. Sometimes I had to simply lie and claim a poster said something or did something “in another thread” they really hadn’t said or done …”

 

Theresienstadt: Living Corpses

In March 1979 the President of Austria placed a wreath in Theresienstadt in memory of the dead Jews. Did he also spare a thought for the Germans and Austrians who had been tortured to death there?

Very few survived the Theresienstadt camp of post-war days. Physician Dr. Emil Siegel reports: “Gassing failed to work for technical reasons, and so what remained for us was a slow torture-to-the-death. In the first weeks no-one was granted the mercy of a quick death. Already at the admission we were told that we would be slowly tortured to death. ‘No-one who comes here will get out alive.’ And that’s how it was. It was not until the Russians intervened that things got better.”

This physician is one of the few who survived that death camp. We shall not repeat all his descriptions of the gruesome torture here. But the following account of Dr. Siegel’s is representative for Theresienstadt.

When typhus broke out in the camp, he was sent to serve as doctor in the ‘sick cells’: “The ill were crowded so closely together that they could not lie on their backs, only on their sides. Among them were many who came from the last battles and who had only just been amputated; most of them were leg ie. upper-thigh amputees, some were also missing an arm. Almost all of them were young fellows aged 16 to 18 – allegedly SS-men. They lay on the bare concrete floor squeezed together like sardines, bumping into each other with their amputated stumps. The bandages were wholly soaked with pus, stank horribly and crawled with fly maggots. On some, the bandages had fallen off and the bare, pus-covered wound or bone stump showed. They begged to be bandaged, and I will never in my life forget their faces, lined with dreadful pain and endless despair, as they lay there squashed together on the floor and constantly bumped into each other’s wounds. These poor souls were the biggest joy of camp commandant Prusa and his accomplices, who reveled in their agony.

“In my role as doctor I was forbidden either to apply a bandage or to speak so much as one word to these young fellows. While checking their wounds I was restrained by the arm, and I was told that if I said even a single word to the amputees I would join them there on the floor. The martyrdom of these poor souls lasted several weeks. I saw them one more time – as dead bodies, showing evidence of having been beaten, especially on their amputated stumps. I don’t know whether they were beaten to death, or strangled ‘Theresienstadt-style’.

“Everyone in the typhus camp suffered from raging fever. In their stupor they would be forever leaving their pallet, they did not react to being spoken to, and in a very short time the entire room and the lavatory were smeared all over with diarrhea, as were the straw sacks that constituted the pallets, and the patients themselves as well. Added to this were the hordes of fleas and flies that came over from the mortuary opposite, where many corpses were often left lying around naked for days. There was no end to the bedbugs. Since there was nothing to drink the patients would totter out to the water toilets where they drank the water out of the toilet bowls.

“The commandant’s daughter, Sonja Prusova, was a sadist. I was told that she had personally helped to beat 28 people to death. She tore women’s hair out, beat them in the face or belly with her fists or feet, and flogged them; women who had suffered at her hands told me this themselves. I always knew, when I saw her running to Yard 4 with glowing eyes and greedy mouth, that now there were more people being tortured, and that blood would flow again.”

nurse who later died told Dr. Emil Siegel in the camp: “During the registration process I was beaten to the point where they knocked out one of my teeth. The wife of an SS-man was beaten together with me. I was taken away, and the SS wife was shoved rear-down onto an SS dagger. I heard her scream dreadfully as the sharp knife cut into her intestines.

“In my cell I had to strip naked in front of everyone, and was beaten again. Since I was covered all over with blood, I was given some water to wash up. Naked as I was, I had to stand on a flag all night long. The next day we were given prison clothing.

“Every day for four weeks I received 25 blows with a truncheon, cane, strap or whatever else the guard happened to get his hands on. He was a very young fellow, and he constantly tried to rape me; but because I desperately fought him off, I would always end up being flogged by him instead, until I collapsed unconscious. After these four horrible weeks I was put into a group of SS men (I was the only woman among them) and put to corpse-carrying duty. They were the bodies of typhus victims.

“I was beaten during this work, and also had to watch how SS-men were beaten until they died. Whenever I passed out from the stench of the dead bodies, a bucket of water would be poured over me, and I had to dig on. In this way I repeatedly fell into one of the mass graves, onto the bodies. On one of my feet I had a wound that became badly inflamed. They gave me a shoe, and I had to dig on. With bare hands and no protection whatsoever we had to dig these bodies out and place each into a coffin. It is beyond me how the body toxins didn’t kill us.”

Eduard Fritsch reports about Theresienstadt: “One day, I and some others were ordered to clean up the single-cells where the bodies of those lay who had been beaten to death. Clotted blood was layered several centimeters deep on the floor; cut-off ears, knocked-out teeth, chunks of skin, hair, dentures and the like lay everywhere. The stench of the blood etc. soon made it impossible for us to continue washing the cells and hallways. After two or three days many of us developed terrible swellings on our back, neck, head and arms. I was ordered to report to the sick-ward, where I saw something terrifying: patients were stripped to the skin and laid on a stretcher and the doctor then injected them with a fast-acting poison. These people died within one minute.”

I’ve often cited the groundbreaking review, “Is US health really the best in the world?” Author, Dr. Barbara Starfield, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Publisher: The Journal of the American Medical Association, July 26, 2000.

Starfield concluded that, every year in the US, the medical system directly kills 225,000 people. 106,000 die as a result of medicines the FDA has approved as safe. The other 119,000 die as a result of treatment in hospitals.

Add it up. That’s 2.25 million deaths per decade caused by the US medical system.

Now for the question: how many of those deaths… do you think doctors…voluntarily admit…to families of the dead patients…are medically caused?

I’ll tell you.

None.

In every case, a lie was cooked up. “I’m sorry, but the disease suddenly accelerated…”

That’s 2.25 million lies per decade about the actual cause of death.

But people continue to worship at the feet of doctors and medical experts.

Many consider Solzhenitsyn an anti-Semite.  Certain of his works are hard to get in the West or remain untranslated on that account.

But hatred of any group cannot be imputed to a man simply because he refuses to be intimidated from recounting the facts of history as they actually occurred. Such imputation is no more than censorship by another name.

To hate someone or something is of no account –  in terms of political rights – unless one urges their destruction….or, worse, enacts it.

Let us not forget that the greatest holocaust in modern history (in sheer numbers) was targeted at Russian Orthodox Christianity by militant atheistic communism, created and funded by the Western (Anglo-Zionist) capitalist powers.

Now, that is hatred that merits naming and denunciation.

But where are the memorials for those victims and where is the naming and shaming of those perpetrators?

In this magnificent address, Solzhenitsyn shows that he very well knows where culpability for the “New World Order” lies, but he knows also that ultimately the power of this dispensation rests on every man’s consent to its lies and intimidation.

More than half a century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing a number of older people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.

Since then I have spent well-nigh fifty years working on the history of our Revolution; in the process I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the main cause of the ruinous Revolution that swallowed up some sixty million of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened.

What is more, the events of the Russian Revolution can only be understood now, at the end of the century, against the background of what has since occurred in the rest of the world. What emerges here is a process of universal significance. And if I were called upon to identify briefly the principal trait of the entire twentieth century, here too, I would be unable to find anything more precise and pithy than to repeat once again: Men have forgotten God.

The failings of human consciousness, deprived of its divine dimension, have been a determining factor in all the major crimes of this century. The first of these was World War I, and much of our present predicament can be traced back to it. It was a war (the memory of which seems to be fading) when Europe, bursting with health and abundance, fell into a rage of self-mutilation which could not but sap its strength for a century or more, and perhaps forever. The only possible explanation for this war is a mental eclipse among the leaders of Europe due to their lost awareness of a Supreme Power above them. Only a godless embitterment could have moved ostensibly Christian states to employ poison gas, a weapon so obviously beyond the limits of humanity……..

In its past, Russia did know a time when the social ideal was not fame, or riches, or material success, but a pious way of life. Russia was then steeped in an Orthodox Christianity which remained true to the Church of the first centuries. The Orthodoxy of that time knew how to safeguard its people under the yoke of a foreign occupation that lasted more than two centuries, while at the same time fending off iniquitous blows from the swords of Western crusaders. ……..

But in the 17th century Russian Orthodoxy was gravely weakened by an internal schism. In the 18th, the country was shaken by Peter’s forcibly imposed transformations, which favored the economy, the state, and the military at the expense of the religious spirit and national life. And along with this lopsided Petrine enlightenment, Russia felt the first whiff of secularism; its subtle poisons permeated the educated classes in the course of the 19th century and opened the path to Marxism. By the time of the Revolution, faith had virtually disappeared in Russian educated circles; and amongst the uneducated, its health was threatened.

It was Dostoevsky, once again, who drew from the French Revolution and its seeming hatred of the Church the lesson that “revolution must necessarily begin with atheism.” That is absolutely true.

But the world had never before known a godlessness as organized, militarized, and tenaciously malevolent as that practiced by Marxism. Within the philosophical system of Marx and Lenin, and at the heart of their psychology, hatred of God is the principal driving force, more fundamental than all their political and economic pretensions. Militant atheism is not merely incidental or marginal to Communist policy; it is not a side effect, but the central pivot.

The 1920’s in the USSR witnessed an uninterrupted procession of victims and martyrs amongst the Orthodox clergy. Two metropolitans were shot, one of whom, Veniamin of Petrograd, had been elected by the popular vote of his diocese. Patriarch Tikhon himself passed through the hands of the Cheka-GPU and then died under suspicious circumstances. Scores of archbishops and bishops perished. Tens of thousands of priests, monks, and nuns, pressured by the Chekists to renounce the Word of God, were tortured, shot in cellars, sent to camps, exiled to the desolate tundra of the far North, or turned out into the streets in their old age without food or shelter. All these Christian martyrs went unswervingly to their deaths for the faith; instances of apostasy were few and far between. For tens of millions of laymen access to the Church was blocked, and they were forbidden to bring up their children in the Faith: religious parents were wrenched from their children and thrown into prison, while the children were turned from the faith by threats and lies…

….

Imperceptibly, through decades of gradual erosion, the meaning of life in the West has ceased to be seen as anything more lofty than the “pursuit of happiness, “a goal that has even been solemnly guaranteed by constitutions. …… If a blasphemous film about Jesus is shown throughout the United States, reputedly one of the most religious countries in the world, or a major newspaper publishes a shameless caricature of the Virgin Mary, what further evidence of godlessness does one need? When external rights are completely unrestricted, why should one make an inner effort to restrain oneself from ignoble acts?

….. The contemporary developed West thus demonstrates by its own example that human salvation can be found neither in the profusion of material goods nor in merely making money……

…. The social theories that promised so much have demonstrated their bankruptcy, leaving us at a dead end. The free people of the West could reasonably have been expected to realize that they are beset · by numerous freely nurtured falsehoods, and not to allow lies to be foisted upon them so easily. All attempts to find a way out of the plight of today’s world are fruitless unless we redirect our consciousness, in repentance, to the Creator of all: without this, no exit will be illumined, and we shall seek it in vain. The resources we have set aside for ourselves are too impoverished for the task.

…..The laws of physics and physiology will never reveal the indisputable manner in which the Creator constantly, day in and day out, participates in the life of each of us, unfailingly granting us the energy of existence; when this assistance leaves us, we die. And in the life of our entire planet, the Divine Spirit surely moves with no less force: this we must grasp in our dark and terrible hour.

To the ill-considered hopes of the last two centuries, which have reduced us to insignificance and brought us to the brink of nuclear and non-nuclear death, we can propose only a determined quest for the warm hand of God, which we have so rashly and self-confidently spurned. Only in this way can our eyes be opened to the errors of this unfortunate twentieth century and our bands be directed to setting them right. There is nothing else to cling to in the landslide: the combined vision of all the thinkers of the Enlightenment amounts to nothing.

Our five continents are caught in a whirlwind. But it is during trials such as these that the highest gifts of the human spirit are manifested. If we perish and lose this world, the fault will be ours alone. “

Whatever you think about India’s new PM, BJP favorite, Narendra Modi, he’s already done a few things to make supporters pleased and detractors less skeptical:

1.  Modi has launched a national cleanliness drive to end the shameful public health nightmare of open defecation in India.

This was a cause dear to Mahatma Gandhi.  And on this blog, as well, I’ve written often that the scandal of Indian public hygiene should be the number one priority in India, not arms races:

“Public sanitation is India’s number one problem. We have the hubris to consider ourselves a fledgling superpower on the basis of the accomplishments of the professional classes and some nuclear weapons.

But we can’t seem to keep our streets free from filth. When we show enough respect for each other to clean up after ourselves and make our cities liveable, we will have accomplished several things at once.

We will have recovered our self-respect, we will have given dignity to even the “lowest” manual labor, and we will have eliminated the cause of many of our most widespread diseases. Beauty is as vital to the soul as food is to the body. Without it, we subsist, but we do not have a culture.

Because it despises physical work and the body, Indian society overvalues intellectual work, leaving not enough people to create those un-intellectual, unglamorous, petty businesses that create jobs and drive real economic growth.

So, for me, our first area of focus should be acquiring the self-confidence and humility to criticize and correct this area of darkness in our society.”

2.  Modi has rightly snubbed the grand-standing  US  Attorney Preet Bharara (Democrat).

3.  Modi has quickly resolved the confusion around the long-term visa facilities offered to overseas Indians, by declaring that the PIO card will be a permanent life-long visa that does not require yearly police registration.
