Even the supposed ‘real’ social conservatives are okay with big government as long as big government does what they want. Say, isn’t the police busting down your door for using drugs in your own home BIG GOVERNMENT? But the social/neo conservatives are totally okay with that because they don’t like drugs, think they’re immoral, etc (and to an extent, thats not a bad belief to take). But it’s bad to go scream about small government and then use big government as a weapon. Fucking hypocrites.

Well, I agree when the conduct is something that only concerns yourself and not other people.
But if someone murders or commits home invasions, surely calling the cops is understandable?
Or do you think, neighbors should just sharpen up their knives, climb over the fence, and deliver rough justice?
People are confusing an abstract theory about the state with its concrete instantiation.
