Reporter David Weigel’s feverish imaginings about the group he pretends to cover objectively have surfaced in emails sent to the liberal listserv, Journolist, according to Fishbowl DC (hat-tip to LRC blog).
Why am I not surprised?
Global-warming “scientists” turn out to be political hacks grinding over-sized axes; “educators” preaching “tolerance” and “love” turn out to be sexual Bolsheviks; green “activists” turn out to be shills for billionaire speculators…..
Likewise, The Washington Post’s reporter on conservative issues….ta-da….loathes conservatives. I mean loathes. Every time he talks about them, the word “rat-fuck” crops up, and let me tell you this is a new one even for someone who’s heard pretty much everything offensive that can be said with four letters….
Whether the rat is the do-er or the do-ee in this colorful phrase and whatever the logic that singled out the creature for its copulatory habits, this is not the language – or tone – of objectivity…or even of reason. It’s the language of, well, of a 10 year old scratching and pinching someone in the back row.
What that says about the liberal establishment’s desperation isn’t hard to guess. They’re pulling out every stop they can to drown out the rumbles of rebellion from the street. They’re revising history even before it’s written.
From that perspective, I offer you this excerpt from David, “the rat,” Weigel, DC litterateur, latter-day Carlyle of the Tea-Party, dainty belle-lettrist at one of the nation’s…and the world’s…bluest-chip journals:
(Excerpts from a thread entitled: “ACORN Ratf*cker arrested)
*“HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.” “Deep breath.” “HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHA.”
*“He’s either going to get a radio talk show or start a prison ministry. That’s what successful conservative ratfuckers do for their second acts,” (about Charles Colson who converted to Christianity after imprisonment for obstruction of justice and then founded Prison Fellowship).
*“Ratfucking [Obama] on every bill.” (about Republicans)
*“It’s really a disgrace that an amoral shut-in like Drudge maintains the influence he does on the news cycle while gay-baiting, lying, and flubbing facts to this degree.” (about Matt Drudge)
*[It’s really a problem] “this need to give equal/extra time to ‘real American’ views, no matter how fucking moronic, which just so happen to be the views of the conglomerates that run the media and/or buy up ads.” (about the Tea Party)
*”This would be a vastly better world to live in if Matt Drudge decided to handle his emotional problems more responsibly, and set himself on fire.”
*”It’s all very amusing to me. Two hundred screaming Ron Paul fanatics couldn’t get their man into the Fox News New Hampshire GOP debate, but Fox News is pumping around the clock to get Paultard Tea Party people on TV.”
