New Notes: 50% Security Features Already Counterfeited

More evidence from the Hindu that Demonetization was a either one of the most colossal blunders of modern Indian history or a sophisticated attack on the Indian economy:

The Border Security Force (BSF) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) intercepted four consignments of  2000 notes between December 2016 and January this year from areas near Malda district.

With the quality of the fakes improving over time, the seizure has set alarm bells ringing for intelligence agencies and security forces.

“The notes have copied the geometric patterns and the colour scheme both on obverse and the reverse side including watermark, and the exclusive number pattern of the 2000 currency. Unlike samples seized elsewhere which were scanned or colour photocopies, these have been printed using sophisticated dyes,” a senior security officer said.

More than half of the 17 RBI-listed security features have been replicated.”

The notes were seized from Mohammad Ashraful and Ripon Sheikh from Malda district.

Please note that Malda district is in West Bengal. It shares a 223 km in total international border with Bangladesh and is a hub of the fake currency racket.

This 12 sq-km triangle with 18 villages, 40km from Malda town, have turned into the entry point of 40% fake Indian notes being pumped into the country through the porous border.

Malda, particularly the three Kaliachak blocks, have always been known as the smuggling point for fake currencies, but the situation has taken a turn for the worse in the past five years. According to a recent NIA report, 80% fake currencies are sneaked into the country through the 172-km porous border along Malda district, and 55-60% of the consignments from Bangladesh are circulated from the villages in 12 sq-km triangle.”

While demonetization had a temporary effect on Malda’s flourishing fake currency business,  it was expected that the trade would resume in the space of 1-3 months.

“We are looking at a time frame of one month to three months before we make the first seizure of a fresh consignment of fake Indian currency, this time most likely Rs 100 notes,” said a senior BSF officer who did not want to be identified.”

But it’s not the 100, but the  new 2000, that has had half the security features successfully faked. Which leads one to question the whole rationale of demo itself, because a large bill of that kind would be much more attractive to counterfeiters in the first place.

Meanwhile the network of couriers dispersing the notes continues:

“The movement is done in chains,” explained a security official who did not want to be identified. “From the point of origin of the consignment in Bangladesh to the destination in Kaliachawk, there would be no less than 20 to 25 couriers in each chain. Each person in the chain normally covers a distance of 100 meters to hand over the consignment to the next one in the chain. It is an intricate network and very difficult to trap and dismantle.”

DARPA’s Dark History

With evidence of the hand of DARPA behind the Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu, a review of its history is in order.

From Activist Post:

Cloaked in clandestine secrecy, DARPA has been called the “Oh God Why” branch of the Department of Defense. In the fiscal year of 2015, their requested budget was $2.91 billion, which doesn’t include classified and black budgets. Even still, through Freedom of Information Act requests and intrepid journalism, some of the historical truths and future plans of this nebulous government agency have come to light in recent years.

15. DARPA was responsible for the creation and weaponization of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War.

Back in 1961, when DARPA was called ARPA, the agency ran a toxicology branch at Fort Detrick, where it spearheaded one of the most controversial weapons programs in U.S. history. Project Agile utilized Agent Orange as a part of their highly classified defoliation and food crop poisoning efforts in the jungles of Vietnam. Their use of Agent Orange, which was manufactured by nine wartime government contractors, including Monsanto, may be responsible for cancer, nervous disorders, and skin cancer in 2.8 million servicemen who returned from Vietnam. The U.S. defoliation program directly killed about 400,000 Vietnamese, caused half a million children to be born with birth defects, and may be the cause of cancer in over 2 million more Vietnamese people.

President John F. Kennedy signed off on DARPA’s costly, deadly and, ultimately, ineffective program.

14. Four nuclear bombs were detonated during the Cuban Missile Crisis

It’s widely believed that nuclear weapons were not used during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Contrarily, with Eisenhower’s test ban failing, the United States actually detonated two nuclear weapons — code-named Checkmate and Bluegill Triple Prime — in space at the height of of tension in October of 1962. Then they tested two more bombs.

ARPA, at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, launched this effort to test an atmospheric nuclear defense shield known as the Christofilos Effect.

13. DARPA ostracized any scientist who discussed ethics or morality with regard to the use of nuclear weapons.

After the horror of witnessing the first hydrogen bomb test, which, in its initial blast had many scientists afraid the atmosphere was catching on fire, Robert Oppenheimer was forced into exile after expressing moral concerns over continued nuclear weapons development. Thereafter, it became official DARPA policy to not discuss ethical issues related to the use of nuclear weapons in warfare.

12. DARPA scientists drew up plans to nuke the Ho Chi Minh Trail during the Vietnam War.

Then Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara called on the JASON scientists — at one time a dominant and prolific division within DARPA — to determine whether it was possible to take out the Ho Chi Minh Trail with nuclear weapons. Military leaders considered the disabling of this important strategic path the preeminent way for the United States to fatally weaken the Viet Cong insurgency.

However, in this rare instance of restraint, the JASON scientists determined it was impractical to use nuclear weapons for this purpose. They stated:

At least one TNW [tactical nuclear weapon] is required for each target, and the targets are mostly small and fleeting. A reasonable guess at the order of magnitude of weapons requirements … would be ten per day or 3000 per year.

11. DARPA developed weapons specifically for the purpose of brutally incapacitating anti-war demonstrators.

At the peak of the anti-Vietnam War fervor in 1968, then-ARPA scientists looked for methods of comprehensively dispersing the crowds that gathered in huge numbers to peacefully protest the war. The research and implementation of these methods included tear gas, phosgene oxide (which can cause temporary blindness), anticholinergics (which block nerve impulses), emetic agents (chemicals that induce vomiting), non-lethal grenades, poisoned tranquilizing darts, lasers, eardrum-shattering loud noises, and tagging (using markings only visible in ultraviolet light) for later apprehension.

“Nonlethal weapons are generally intended to prevent an individual from engaging in undesirable acts,” wrote the authors of a seminal report, which was only recently declassified.

The final crowd control effort, which persists today, sanctioned the upgrading of state police arsenals with military-grade equipment. The Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 created the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA), a federal agency whose sole purpose was to militarize local police forces.

10. In 2008, the NSA and DARPA collaborated for a covert data mining campaign called Project Reynard, which monitored millions of World of Warcraft users.

Project Reynard came at the first peak of MMO gaming and sought to track the online behavior of 10 million monthly subscribers to the World of Warcraft. This program wasn’t revealed to the public until 2013, when Edward Snowden disclosed top secret documents related to governmental abuses of power.

DARPA scientists configured a Video Analysis and Content Extraction tool, as well as something called Knowledge Discovery and Dissemination, so that Reynard was “automatically detecting suspicious behavior and actions in the virtual world.”

9. DARPA’s anti-polio vaccination campaign exposed millions of Americans to the “cryptic human infection” of monkey virus.

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the JASON scientists were tasked with biological warfare defense. Their research produced a highly classified controversial vaccination campaign that exposed 98 million people to the “cryptic human infection” of monkey virus, known as Simian virus 40 (SV40).

No one was told of the risk and, even today, rancorous debate over the extent of the danger persists. Scientists have reported that the SV40 virus is found in cancerous human tumors.

Writing on the nature of a stealth virus, or ‘silent loads,’ in biological warfare, one Jason microbiologist wrote:

The basic idea behind a stealth virus is to produce a tightly regulated, cryptic viral infection, using a vector that can enter and spread in human cells, remaining resident for lengthy periods without detectable harm … [a population could be] slowly pre-infected with a stealth virus over an extended period, possibly years, and then synchronously triggered.

8. DARPA’s Defense Sciences Office was controlled by military Transhumanist, Michael Goldblatt, a McDonald’s employee.

Michael Goldblatt, who believes that humans will end up controlling their own evolution with technology, came to DARPA in 1999 with a vision for military-based Transhumanism. His plans included super-soldiers donning exoskeletons and the use of biotech to manufacture pain vaccines and rapid blood clotting for “rapid healing” troops. He also wanted to create the “24/7 soldier,” who requires little to no sleep on the battlefield.

He also happened to have served as chief science officer and vice president of research for McDonald’s.

7. DARPA’S Dark Winter war game simulated a biological terrorist attack and may have contributed to a biowarfare hysteria that paved the way for the Iraq war.

Dark Winter was a fictitious exercise developed by four organizations overseen by DARPA, who wanted to create a hypothetical biological terrorist attack and then assess military reactions to the scenario. The premise, which was pitched to Dick Cheney in 2001, before 9/11, involved a smallpox outbreak in Oklahoma City. The game played out over thirteen days, during which time the disease spread to 25 states and 15 other countries. With no response or vaccine available, a million people died within weeks.

As a result, the Congressional Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism stated,

To date, the U.S. government has invested most of its nonproliferation efforts and diplomatic capital in preventing nuclear terrorism. The commission believes that it should make the more likely threat — bioterrorism — a higher priority.

Since Dark Winter, the government has spent more than $60 billion on biodefense. This number, of course, doesn’t tabulate the cost of the war in Iraq, the justification of which was greatly buoyed by fear-mongering over Saddam Hussein’s fictitious chemical and biological warfare capacities.

6. DARPA sponsored biosurveillance program Bio-ALIRT, which collected the medical records of millions of Americans without their knowledge or consent.

Even before 9/11 sent government agencies into Orwellian overdrive, DARPA had been leveraging a surveillance program known as Bio-ALIRT, for Bio-Event Advanced Leading Indicator Recognition Technology. Supercomputers did the job, scanning all available databases of medical records of American citizens.

5. Under the umbrella of a system known as Total Information Awareness, DARPA spearheaded many of the surveillance programs abused by the NSA.

DARPA’s Total Information Awareness concept created a veritable buffet of advanced surveillance and data mining programs, many of which ultimately were folded into NSA’s PRISM. We now know that PRISM culled citizens’ personal data from companies like Microsoft, Google, and Facebook, and was later leaked by whistleblower Edward Snowden. Total Information Awareness programs include:

Evidence Extraction and Link Discovery program (EELD) – Sole purpose is to gather as much information about both terror suspects and average American citizens as possible, using“phone records, computer searches, credit card receipts, parking receipts, books checked out of the library, films rented, and more.”Goal is to assess megadata on 285 million people a day in real-time.

Scalable Social Network Analysis (SSNA) – Program “monitors telephone calls, conference calls, and ATM withdrawals … also sought to develop a far more invasive surveillance technology.”

Activity Recognition and Monitoring (ARM) – With England’s CCTV surveillance cameras as a model, ARM created a massive database of people going about their everyday lives. Using advanced facial recognition software, the program highlighted any behavior that was outside the realm of a preprogrammed “ordinary,” the definition of which remains classified.

Deep Exploration and Filtering of Text (DEFT) – Operating on a 28 million dollar budget, this program utilizes advanced computer algorithms to analyze text-based messages in all shapes and forms, from text messages to reports, with the aim being to comprehend “implied and hidden meanings through probabilistic inference.” The full use of DEFT in the United States is classified.

Nexus 7 – With a classified budget, this particularly murky program studies and tracks social network content. First used in Afghanistan in a defense capacity, when aimed at domestic networks the use of the program is a mystery.

(Source: The Pentagon’s Brain: An Uncensored History of DARPA, America’s Top Secret Military Research Agency.)

4. DARPA’S “culture-centric warfare” program conscripted social scientists and anthropologists into the Iraq war as mercenaries.

Operating under the idea that anthropologists would facilitate a more humane war effort, DARPA’S Human Terrain System sought to promote “honorable warfare” in its Iraq counterinsurgency efforts. This lead to the gruesome death of at least one social scientist. On the whole, the program seems to have muddled the already arcane purpose of combat forces in Iraq with a ‘hearts and minds’ type of ideology. It reminded some analysts of internal military propaganda from the Vietnam War.

After [Human Terrain System] training,” DARPA stated, “soldiers will be able to approach and engage strangers in unfamiliar social environments, orient to unfamiliar patterns of behavior, recover from social mistakes, de-escalate conflict, rigorously practice transition in and out of force situations and engage in the process of discovering and adapting to previously unknown ‘rules of the game’ encountered in social engagements.

3. DARPA believes the future of war involves animal cyborgs and insect-inspired drone technology.

The Stealthy Insect Sensor Project is part of a long-standing effort to use bees in war, particularly as bomb locators. It started in 1999 and evolved into the development of insect-inspired drones, which are known as micro air vehicles (MAVs). Eventually, DARPA plans for its “biohybrids” to be part animal, part machine cyborgs, which, according to Annie Jacobsen, author of The Pentagon’s Brain: An Uncensored History of DARPA, America’s Top Secret Military Research Agency, will “fly, swim, crawl, walk, run, and swarm.”

The science fueling this futuristic vision is nanobiology. Most of the nanobiology applications DARPA is developing are classified. However, in an interview with Coast to Coast AM, Jacobsen said,

DARPA has already succeeded in creating a rat that will be steered by remote control by implanting an electrode in its brain.

And it’s done the same thing with a moth which is really remarkable because the scientists implanted the electrodes in the pupa stage of the moth when it was still a worm! And then it transformed into having wings, and those tiny little micro-sensors transformed with the moth and the DARPA scientists were able to steer that moth.

Imagine following that idea through — DARPA is moving toward engineering humans for war.

2. DARPA’s Narrative Networks program developed classified techniques used to manipulate trust in humans.

For its Narrative Networks (N2) program, DARPA collaborated with a CIA agency called the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Agency (IARPA) to develop methods of overwriting messages in the human mind. In an article for phys.org entitled “DARPA looking to master propaganda via Narrative Networks,” the program was described as having two parts: first, to understand what happens in the human mind when someone sees or hears a message; second, to figure out how to control how the brain interprets the message.

One researcher described Narrative Networks as an attempt to “detect narrative influence … [for the] prevention of negative behavioral outcomes … and generation of positive behavioral outcomes, such as building trust.”

The government is already trying to control the message, so why not have the science to do it in a systematic way?

1. Hunter-killer robots, guided by advanced artificial intelligence, will wage the wars of the future.

Despite the grand mystery of exactly what DARPA is currently working on, which of course is deeply classified, there have been relatively unambiguous signals that it involves artificial intelligence and the outsourcing of military operations to machines. The future of war will see the rise of unmanned autonomous drones, referred to as hunter-killer robots.

In 2011, the Defense Department released a document entitled “Unmanned Systems Integrated Roadmap,” which laid out a cursory overview of the next couple decades. It unequivocally states there will be fully self-governing autonomous machines … soon. Currently, DARPA is working on creating an artificial brain.

According to the undersecretary of defense Ashton B. Carter in 2010:

Dramatic progress in supporting technologies suggests that unprecedented, perhaps unimagined degrees of autonomy can be introduced into current and future military systems.

Perhaps the next great space race is taking place right now in top secret labs all across the world. This time the players include the private sector, too, as Google’s Ray Kurzweil is also trying to create an artificial brain.

Jallikattu Protests: Nachiket Mor & DARPA Links

A comment on this blog leads to new insight on what’s behind the huge, suspiciously well-organized pro-Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu in 2017:

Microsoft’s 2015  crowd mobilization report using mobile phone and social media in Tamil Nadu and Delhi.

That report was in turn based on earlier research summarized in a pdf entitled Vashishta-INTERACTIONS2015″

which concludes as follows:

“This paper presents the first crowd mobilization challenge conducted in India, a developing country context where effective social mobilization is broader and more inclusive than the rich country settings studied previously. We customized the design of the challenge to incorporate local languages and to enable participation at very low cost by anyone with access to a basic mobile phone. The challenge was successful in attracting broad participation, spanning 7,700 participants from all across India in less than a day.

While many participants utilized Internet technologies, we also found interesting usage
of SMS, voice, and face-to-face communications that offered benefits in the Indian context. Unlike previous social mobilization contests, participants relied primarily on their personal networks, and often recruited team members without offering any financial incentives. We synthesize our lessons learned as a set of recommendations to help
future crowd mobilization challenges extend their reach into low-income, offline envi-
ronments.”
These crowd mobilizations experiments came out of research begun by DARPA as early as 2009, when, as I’ve blogged repeatedly, a whole new generation of intelligence projects began, including Wikileaks.
DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is now actually headed by an Indian:
Since then, DARPA—now headed by India-born Caltech alumna Arati  Prabhakar—has driven innovation using a small, nimble team of 200 persons and delivered to the world technology ranging from the internet to hand-held GPS systems and is now focused on fields as diverse as mathematics, synthetic biology, and neuro-technology. What is critical is that it “does not perform its engineering alchemy in isolation”.
The article quoted above laments that India, which delivers high quality space, engineering, and medical research at a fraction of the cost that the US does, still doesn’t have an equivalent to DARPA.
The problem with that, as the author doesn’t realize, is that the Indians at the helm of such agencies, including Mor and Prabhakar, are simply tools used by larger interests.
And likewise, any “Indian platform” like the posited INDRA, will only be a means by which India’s low-cost, high-power advances are stolen, culled, and otherwise used to profit the Western oligarchy, while ordinary Indians themselves will be enslaved by “their government” (or rather, the financial cabal for which the government now fronts) technologically.
This has already happened, with American partnerships and joint ventures being thrust on Indian universities and promoted to Indian students, ostensibly for bringing local institutions up  to international standards, but, in actual fact,  for IP theft.
Many of these recently developed institutions, like Vellore Institute of Technology,  receive enormous promotion from left-wing English language papers like the Hindu.
It would be a reasonable guess that, with student bodies drawn from neighboring countries, they will be infiltrated by Chinese, US, and other intelligence agents.
Meanwhile, Microsoft, as well as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,  are behind the push toward “cashless” in India.
Gates had already been a big player in computer systems used in the public sector in the country, as well in so-called philanthropic efforts implementing the UN Millennium goals, the ultimate aim of which – even with the most benign interpretation –  is global population control.
Previous posts (see below) have shown the Gates/NWO  hand behind demonetization in India.

COMMENT from Shanty Mathew at Inkstainedmind.blogspot.in.

“THIS MIGHT JUST BE SHEER COINCIDENCE… But in September 2015, Microsoft India released a report on how they experimented with “Crowd Mobilization” via mobile phone and social media in Tamil Nadu and Delhi. The experiment was modeled around work done earlier by DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. The report with its vague and amorphous objectives and conclusions is available here (pdf) http://preview.tinyurl.com/j75pq7u

Remember, Nachiket Mor Country Director of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation India is from TN. (Btw, I want to thank you for bringing up that name.)

Lila: Thanks, and here is the post in which I brought it up.

As you can see, I have blogged about his connection to Aadhar as well.

I didn’t catch the Jallikattu link, but I knew the whole protest was a Rothschild creation, because of the links to the Ford Foundation, the appeal to a UN mandate,  the coordination with Trump’s inauguration, simultaneous appearance of world-wide anti-Trump feminist protests, and also the symbolism of the bull, in relation to Shiva-Shakti.]

COMMENT (continued)

Nachiket Mor, it would seem, is both omniscient, omnipresent, and yet invisible!!!

He was in the TAGUP Committee headed by Nanadan Nilekani which brought up the idea of monopolistic NIUs (National Information Utilities) to leverage Aadhaar. He was, of course, head of the RBI’s Mor Committee which brought out the report laid the roadmap for “cashless payment economy” in India. And he is currently sitting on the board of the RBI and as Director of BMGF.

It would be really interesting to know whose hands are up this sock puppet!”

I Was Wrong About Trump

I was wrong about Trump.

Not that he isn’t a shill for the financial cartel and another face of the elites. Yes, he is all that.

But I was wrong that the election was just six of one, half a dozen of the other.

So far, at least, that’s not been the case.

All the goody-two-shoes bombing-for-their-own-good of Afghanistan, Libya, and Syria, apparently qualified Obama as a “decent” man and great president to our liberal brethren.

Comes Trump who hasn’t bombed a soul but merely – and quite sensibly- wants to keep out refugees from countries that are considered enemies of the US, and the caterwauling can be heard around the solar system.

What? You think a sovereign nation has the right to determine who enters its borders and wants to keep out people who might – quite justifiably in my opinion – want to sock it to Americans for what’s been done to them?

You madman, you!

And that wall. Sure, it’s a boondoggle. But then what isn’t?

Not that I personally am in favor of stopping Mexicans crossing the border to work illegally.

But along with workers, come gangs, revanchist groups, gun-running, drugs, and sex-trafficking. And subsidies to illegals that have bust the budgets of border states.

A virtual wall would be more efficient and cheaper, but I personally prefer concrete, if for nothing more than the symbolism of a Great Wall Of Mehiko.

True, I will no longer be able to dreamily plot routes that avoid passport checks – a favorite hobby of a frequent traveler. Sailing across an unmanned southern border  will soon be an impossibility. I dread to think of the logistics, the dust thrown up, the flora and fauna diving for cover.

But all leaders have their follies and the ancient Egyptians probably hated the building of the pyramids as well.

Let Trump have his.

Meanwhile,  there’s the whole LBGTQ project struck right off the official website; the climate-change agenda erased; funding withdrawn for US tax-payer subsidized abortions; Obama care reversed (at least somewhat); the massacre of Christians in the Middle East an actual thing in the news….

I am not naive enough to believe all this doesn’t still conceal another chapter in the globalist agenda.  It does.

But common sense and the people who pay the bills have just made a come-back, short-lived, as it may be.

I, for one, am grateful.

Now, about FATCA…

Pro-Jallikattu Protest Hijacked By Violent Groups

This Hindustan Times report confirms some of the theories I’ve floated about the “Tamil Spring” Jallikattu protests.

It turns out they were well-organized; they did spring from deeper discontents than Jallikattu alone; there were secessionist, communal, and anti-national groups intent on sabotaging them; there is friction between the Tamil identity parties themselves:

One group of protesters ran inside the Parthasarathy Temple close to the beach and rolled a Sintex water tank towards the police. A car was set on fire. Mob frenzy was at its peak as protesters set fire to vehicles at will.Unverified videos of policemen damaging vehicles and setting fire to an auto rickshaw too began doing the rounds on social media. The city commissioner of police, S George, denied any use of force, saying those videos were morphed, at a press meet on January 23.

Around midnight, police had to fire blanks in the air in the heart of the city to disperse rowdy elements. According to the Chennai police, over 50 people were injured, 40 police personnel wounded and 400 police vehicles and a police station torched.

……..By 20th January, senior police officials had begun murmuring about “anti-social elements” and “fringe groups”.

“This is too organised,” said one senior police official at the time. “There are people making arrangements for food and water in a very systematic manner. In the beginning, there were only a small group of people belonging to fundamentalist Islamic groups. I saw them on the first day. There are students here now, but there is a group of people working quietly behind the scenes, and this includes extreme Left wing groups and the pro-Tamil groups,” he said.

These suspicions were further confirmed by January 21. Speaking to Hindustan Times, one of the key protesters for Jallikattu, Tirupur-based Karthikeyan Sivasenapathy, managing trustee of the Senapathy Kangeyam Cattle Research Foundation, said that genuine student protests had been hijacked by fringe elements. “By the evening of 22nd January, most of the students had left,” claimed Sivasenapathy.

“Most villagers and students in Madurai left for home by the morning of 23rd January,” said another senior police officer. “What followed was a crackdown on the combined strength of members of extreme Left-wing outfits, communal outfits, members of some political parties and pro-Tamil outfits. In fact, we have only recently received intelligence that many of these groups met in Coimbatore at least three months ago to plan a situation like this,” he said. Three police officers confirmed this separately to this reporter…….

Sources within the bureaucracy also say that these intelligence inputs did not reach the chief minister. Due to a deepening power struggle between AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala and CM OPS, the intelligence inputs are reportedly going to Sasikala, bypassing Panneerselvam. Chennai, as a result, witnessed violence like never before.Hijacking a protest?

…..By January 2016, the movement demanding Jallikattu had garnered a lot of attention, especially through social media. By June 2016, a music video composed and released by Adhi, linking Jallikattu with Tamil pride went viral, with over six million views on YouTube.

“Adhi’s music video was not just about Tamil pride but also about organic farming and native breeds,” said Sivasenapathy. “All political parties in Tamil Nadu failed to see the huge resentment among the people, and Jallikattu caught their imagination. People are fed up with the system and the leaders,” he said.

With the Supreme Court upholding the ban on the sport in November 2016 and again refusing to announce its verdict before Pongal (usually on 14th January), tempers flared.

As protests continued, the team of three who appeared to be the “leaders” of the movement were called by the state and Centre for talks on how to resolve the situation. Sivasenapathy, Rajasekar and Adhi were flown to Delhi where they met with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Rajnath Singh and other officials on January 20. A draft ordinance was quickly prepared and the Centre, the President and the Tamil Nadu governor approved and signed it by January 21. The decks were cleared for Jallikattu, at least for this year.

A change in mood

Sivasenapathy claims that when he returned to Marina Beach on January 21 to deliver the good news to protesters that they had won the battle, the mood was palpably different…

Thirumurugan Gandhi of the May 17 movement, a small organisation championing a separate Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka, now addressed the crowd. “This protest is not just for the single demand for Jallikattu, but about the excesses of the state and Central governments. No one was able to do anything about it all this while. Students are joining this protest to express their opposition to such authoritarian actions.” Gandhi was not available for comment despite multiple attempts to reach him.

Gandhi went on to attack the NDA, and the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) government in the state. “The state and Centre are working together to bring in anti-people schemes like the Neutrino project and the methane gas scheme in the Delta areas. If Neutrino project is implemented, the final sufferers will be the people and the farmers. They will commit suicide. Students must give voice for all this too,” he urged students to continue their protests.

An alarmed Sivasenapathy and Adhi then held a press conference on January 22, distancing themselves from the protests, alleging that “vested interests” had entered what was a movement by students. “The victory belongs to students alone,” said Adhi. “There are some other organisations that have wormed their way into these protests. Traffic is being regulated by youngsters, garbage is being collected by youngsters and food is being provided by them. But small gangs of people from outside are coming in vehicles — one group is saying Muslims are being targeted, another group says Hindus are being targeted and then they clash. One gang is raising the national flag, another gang is saying ban Pepsi and Coke and pouring it on the ground…..Another senior police official who did not want to be named said that anti-Modi slogans and anti-PETA slogans were being injected into the protests by these groups.

Take for instance the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the political front for the Popular Front of India (PFI), an organisation with its roots in Kerala that has taken extremist and communal turns on various social issues. SDPI cadre was part of the protests from the very first day, ensuring that food supply continued throughout the week-long action. “The Centre has full rights and powers to ensure that Jallikattu happens,” said Syed Ibrahim Gani of the SDPI in Chennai. “The BJP leaders here and at the national level all speak different things. What is their stand?” Gani also said that blankets, clothes and food were provided by the organisation and its affiliates. “All Islamic organisations supplied food. It is part of our religion and concept,” he said.

When asked for his reaction about the police’s allegations that fringe elements had hijacked the students’ protests, Gani preferred to remain silent.”

Subramanian Swamy, an alleged Mossad disinformation outlet, has suggested that ISI (Pakistan’s spy agency) might be behind the provocateurs at the pro-Jallikattu protests:

“President’s Rule necessary. CRPF, BSF and Army must be mobilised for strike. It is now or never to recover TN from Naxals & Jehadis & Porkis,” Sawmy wrote in Twitter. In this tweet, he contradicted his earlier position where he asked for Sasikala Natarajan to be made the Chief Minister of the state in place of incumbent O. Panneerselvam. “Sasikala should take over. NRH Natarajan be kept far away from power. Panneer (O. Panneerselvam) is a good man but the road to hell is paved with good intentions,” Swamy, a Tamil himself, had tweeted earlier. Later, speaking with India Today, Swamy said that the sudden violence in Chennai was actually triggered by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. “Genuine agitators have dispersed. The main organiser said he is leaving Marina. Today there are people with Prabhakaran’s and Hafiz Sayeed’s posters. This is now an ISI-financed agitation,” Swamy said.

Sinister Agenda Behind DeMo

Bill Engdahl rehashes the agenda behind DeMo, in a good piece, that like all Western  analysis, avoids mentioning the scores of people in India who have in real time deconstructed this operation as it occurred, instead, attributing it to investigation by a German economist.

Whether that is proof of disinformation or controlled opposition I do not know. But I always suspect people who publish misleading sources.

Nonetheless, the article is a good summing up of the agenda behind DeMo, while omitting the British angle and pinning the blame on “Washington” in the usual way of left-wing sites.

[Global Research based in Canada publishes useful pieces, slanted heavily toward Marxist or leftist analysis, thus avoiding the conspiracy tag.]

The Modi cash-less India operation is a project of the US National Security Council, US State Department and Office of the President administered through its US Agency for International Development (USAID). Little surprise, then, that the US State Department spokesman, Mark Toner in a December 1, 2016 press briefing praised the Modi demonetization move stating, “…this was, we believe, an important and necessary step to crack down on illegal actions…a necessary one to address the corruption.”

Keep in mind that USAID today has little to do with aiding poorer countries. By law it must follow the foreign policy agenda of the President’s National Security Council and State Department. It’s widely known as a conduit for CIA money to execute their dirty agendas abroad in places such as Georgia. Notably, the present head of the USAID, Gayle Smith, came to head USAID from her post as Senior Director at the US National Security Council.

German economist and blogger, Norbert Haering, in an extensive, well-documented investigation into the background of the bizarre Modi move to a cash-less India, found not only USAID as the key financial source of the project. He also uncovered a snake-pit of organizational vipers being funded by USAID to design and implement the India shock therapy.

USAID negotiated a co-operation with the Modi Indian Ministry of Finance. In October, 2016 in a press release USAID announced it had created and funded something it named Project Catalyst. The title of their report was, “Catalyst: Inclusive Cashless Payment Partnership.” Its stated goal it said was to bring about a “quantum leap” in cashless payment in India.

They certainly did that. Maybe two quantum leaps and some.

If we dig a bit deeper we find that in January, 2016, USAID presented the Indian Finance Ministry a report titled, Beyond Cash: Why India loves cash and why that matters for financial inclusion. Financial “inclusion” for them means getting all Indians into the digital banking system where their every payment can be electronically tracked and given to the tax authorities or to whomever the government sees fit.

Astonishingly, the report, prepared for USAID by something called the Global Innovation Exchange, admitted that “97% of retail transactions in India are conducted in cash or check; Few consumers use digital payments. Only 11% used debit cards for payments last year. Only 6% of Indian merchants accept digital payments…Only 29 percent of bank accounts in India have been used in the last three months.” The US and Indian governments knew very well what shock they were detonating in India.

The Global Innovation Exchange includes such dubious member organizations as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, a major donor to the Modi war on cash initiative of USAID. It also includes USAID itself, several UN agencies including UNICEF, UNDP, UNHCR. And it includes the US Department of Commerce and a spooky Maclean, Virginia military contractor called MITRE Corporation whose chairman is former CIA Director, James Rodney Schlesinger, a close associate of Henry Kissinger.

The USAID Project Catalyst in partnership with the Indian Finance Ministry was done, according to the USAID press statement, with a sinister-sounding organization called CashlessCatalyst.org. Among the 35 members of CashlessCatalyst.org are USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, VISA, MasterCard, Omidyar Network of eBay billionaire founder Pierre Omidyar, the World Economic Forum-center of the globalization annual Alpine meetings.

War on Cash

However, a most interesting member of the USAID Project Catalyst together with the Indian Ministry of Finance is something called Better Than Cash Alliance. In point of fact the US-government-finance Project Catalyst grew out of a longer cooperation between USAID, the Washington-based Better Than Cash Alliance and the Indian Ministry of Finance. It appers to be the core public driver pushing the agenda of the global “war on cash.”

India and the reckless (or corrupt) Modi government implementing the USAID-Better Than Cash Alliance agenda is clearly serving as a guinea pig in a mass social experiment about how to push the cash war in other countries. The Better Than Cash Alliance is described by the UNCDF, which is its Secretariat, as “a US $38 million global alliance of governments, private sector and development organizations committed to accelerating the shift from cash to electronic payments.”

The Better Than Cash Alliance website announces that the alliance, created in 2012, is a “partnership of governments, companies, and international organizations that accelerates the transition from cash to digital payments in order to reduce poverty and drive inclusive growth.” It’s housed at the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in New York whose major donors, in turn, surprise, surprise, are the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and MasterCard Foundation. Among the Better Than Cash Alliance’s 50 members are, in addition to the Gates Foundation, Citi Foundation (Citigroup), Ford Foundation, MasterCard, Omidyar Network, United States Agency for International Development, and Visa Inc.

Recently the European Central Bank, which has held negative interest rates for more than a year, allegedly to stimulate growth in the Eurozone amid the long-duration banking and economic crisis of almost nine years, announced that it will stop printing the €500 note. They claim it’s connected with money laundering and terror financing, though it ominously echoes the Modi India war on cash. Former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, whose shady role in the 1990’s rape of Russia through his Harvard cronies has been documented elsewhere, is calling for eliminating the US $100 bill. These are first steps to future bolder moves to the desired Cash-less society of Gates, Citigroup, Visa et al.

US Dual Standard: Follow the money…

The move to a purely digital money system would be Big Brother on steroids. It would allow the relevant governments to monitor our every money move with a digital trail, to confiscate deposits in what now are legal bank “bail-ins” as was done in Cyprus in 2013. If central banks move interest rates into negative, something the Bank of Japan and ECB in Frankfurt are already doing, citizens have no choice than to spend the bank money or lose. It is hailed as a way to end tax avoidance but it is far, far more sinister.

As Norbert Haering notes, “the status of the dollar as the world’s currency of reference and the dominance of US companies in international finance provide the US government with tremendous power over all participants in the formal non-cash financial system. It can make everybody conform to American law rather than to their local or international rules.” He adds, referring to the recent US Government demand that Germany’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank pay an astonishing and unprecedented $14 billion fine, “Every internationally active bank can be blackmailed by the US government into following their orders, since revoking their license to do business in the US or in dollar basically amounts to shutting them down.”

We should add to this “benevolent concern” of the US Government to stimulate a War on Cash in India and elsewhere the fact that while Washington has been the most aggressive demanding that banks in other countries enact measures for full disclosure of details of Swiss or Panama or other “offshore” secret account holders or US nationals holding money in foreign banks, the USA itself has scrupulously avoided demanding the same of its domestic banks. The result, as Bloomberg noted following the suspiciously-timed Panama Papers offshore “leaks” of May, 2016, is that the United States is rapidly becoming the world’s leading tax and secrecy haven for rich foreigners.

Perversely enough, in 2010 the US passed a law, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, or FACTA, that requires financial firms to disclose foreign accounts held by US citizens and report them to the US IRS tax office or the foreign banks face steep penalties. The EU signed on to the intrusive FACTA despite strong resistance. Then, using FACTA as the model, the Paris-based OECD drafted an even tougher version of FACTA in 2014 to allegedly go after tax avoiders. To date 97 countries have agreed to the tough OECD bank disclosure rules. Very few have refused. The refusers include Bahrain, Nauru, Vanuatu—and…the United States.

World’s Biggest Tax Haven

You don’t have to be a rocket scientist, a financial wizard or a Meyer Lansky to see a pattern. Washington forces disclosure of secret bank accounts of its citizens or companies abroad, while at the same time lifting control or disclosure inside the United States of private banking accounts. No surprise that such experienced private bankers as London’s Rothschild & Co. have opened offices in Reno Nevada a stone’s throw from Harrah’s and other casinos, and according to Bloomberg, is doing a booming business moving the fortunes of wealthy foreign clients out of offshore havens such as Bermuda, or Switzerland which are subject to the new OECD international disclosure requirements, into Rothschild-run trusts in Nevada, which are exempt from those disclosure rules.

Rothschild & Co. Director, Andrew Penney noted that as a result, the United States today, “is effectively the biggest tax haven in the world.” Today Nevada, Meyer Lansky’s money laundering project of the 1930’s with established legalized gambling, is becoming the “new Switzerland.” Wyoming and South Dakota are close on the heels.

One area where America’s institutions are still world class is in devising complex instruments of financial control, asset theft and cyber warfare. The US War on Cash, combined with the US Treasury and IRS war on offshore banking is their latest model. As Washington’s War on Terror had a sinister, hidden agenda, so too does Washington’s War on Cash. It’s something to be avoided at all costs if we human beings are to retain any vestige of sovereignty or autonomy. It will be interesting to see how vigorously Casino mogul Trump moves to close the US tax haven status. What do you bet he doesn’t?

Anti-Trumpers Lose Their Minds..And It’s A Good Thing

I didn’t vote for Trump. I thought he was some kind Trojan Horse.  I didn’t vote for Hillary. I know she’s Chairman Mao in a pantsuit.

I didn’t vote. I had it with everything about voting a long time ago.

But I must say I now see the point of voting for Trump. Anyone who gets the opposition this lathered up cannot be all bad. I still think his foreign policy is going to be all bad, but on the domestic front, there’s at least one good thing to cheer about. He’s driven the opposition crazy.

Gary North at LRC:

I did not vote for Donald Trump. I voted for Gary Johnson. Johnson vetoed 739 bills when he was governor of New Mexico. No governor of New Mexico had ever vetoed that many bills and most of them were sustained. His opponents in the legislature could not get enough votes to override his vetoes. He really made them squirm. That had impressed me for many years, and I figured I might as well say thank you in the only way that matters for a politician: my vote. Also, when asked his opinions on Aleppo, he answered: “What is Aleppo?” Somebody who had never heard of Aleppo probably would not get the United States involved more deeply than it already is in Syria. America would be a lot better off if Barack Obama had never heard of Aleppo.

Anyway, back to Trump. He is the victim of the most systematic campaign of media vitriol that I have ever seen. They didn’t like Barry Goldwater, but they did nothing like this. They didn’t like Ronald Reagan, but they did nothing like this. They will not give Trump any slack at all.

He is being tried by a court that has the guilty verdict in its pocket. Even more delightfully, this court has proven itself to be politically impotent. And in the outlook of this court, there is nothing worse than political impotence. Political impotence means being cast into the outer darkness. As Trump’s parade begins, they sit on the sidelines shouting, “This just isn’t fair.” Yes, it is. It is also delightful.

I call your attention to the most vicious piece of slander against Trump that I have seen so far. It was written by somebody in Australia. Now, the fact that anybody in Australia gives a rat’s patootie about Donald Trump is amazing. But to write something like this is really astounding. I’m not going to quote from it. I want you to read it. As you read it, think this: this bonehead Aussie has no political skin in the game. This is in his country. It is in his political system. He is down under. But he is utterly apoplectic about Donald Trump. You can read his screed here. It appeared in the most internationally influential of Australia’s newspapers, the Sydney Morning News.

What impressed me most about his article is its tone. It is not moral outrage. It is whining. This is crybaby journalism. We do not see it often because they win so often. Snide comments, yes. Contempt, yes. But not whining. When you see a journalist whine, you know he is beaten. He is not rallying the troops for one last stand at the barricades. He is like a three-year-old lying on his back, kicking his legs wildly, and screaming: “I want it! I want it! I want it!” Someone ought to dump a glass of ice water on the guy.

This is happening all over the West. The columnists really have lost their minds. They have lost all sense of perspective.

Republicans were upset twice when Obama defeated Republican candidates for President. But before he came to power in 2009, they pretty much held their peace. I’m not talking about screwballs on the fringe. I’m talking about conservatives in newspapers, magazines, and on websites that had Alexa ratings higher than 500,000. I am talking about the equivalent of the Sydney Morning News.

Trump has really gotten under their skins. I am grudgingly becoming a fan of Trump’s. Anyone who can cause this much pain among the liberal establishment, including the liberal Republican establishment, can’t be all bad.

We are told that he has low public opinion ratings. First, this is not true. Over half the public is favorable. Second, he ran against a woman who had the lowest public opinion ratings of any Democratic candidate for President over the last century. Never has a Democratic candidate for President been so widely regarded as untrustworthy. Now, let me say that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with electing somebody to office who you think is untrustworthy. If you elect anyone to office, and you don’t assume that this person is untrustworthy, you are living in a fantasy world. But Hillary Clinton set the record for public skepticism. Yet the liberal media had a lovefest with her. They seemed astounded when this nagging, shrill, legendary thrower of plates lost the election. Hillary Clinton was the Bobby Knight of American politics. Her loss is not the end of the liberals’ world. But liberals think it may be. Liberals who think this are dumb.

THE MEDIA

The media have not been able to come to grips with his victory. They think the voters in Midwestern states have betrayed American democracy. They think that what’s good for California and New York is good for the nation. A lot of us don’t think so. I moved out of both of those states a long time ago. I have never longingly looked back at either of them. I paid my unfair share of confiscatory state taxes in both of them. That was 40 years ago before they both went even more politically insane than they were then. New York is a state represented in this century in the Senate by Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton. California elected Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. Need I say more?

The media will be in continual apoplexy for at least the next four years. And in each of these years, the media will lose market share. In each of these years, newspaper reporters will be fired unceremoniously. These people are typing furiously on the Titanic. The public is paying less and less attention to them, as Trump proved on November 8. One of my favorite websites is www.NewspaperDeathWatch.com. The latest report on falling ad revenue for the print version of The New York Times is here. I also enjoyed learning of the rout at Reuters.

Also, in each of these years, employees in network television, as well as MSNBC and CNN, will get their well-deserved pink slips.

The more the media grouse about every aspect of Trump’s administration, the more that Trump’s voters will conclude that they did the right thing on November 8.

By the way, where’s Hillary? Talk about a disappearing act! She went from the queen of the media to Greta Garbo in 48 hours. “I want to be alone!”

It is going to be business as usual in Washington. It was business as usual for eight years under Obama. Actually, it was a much-reduced business in Washington. Obama got less legislation through Congress than any modern President of the United States. He was heavy on agenda but light on implementation. Fortunately.

I think Trump’s great contribution has already been made. He utterly humiliated the liberal media. He humiliated the entire bipartisan establishment. He trounced his Republican opponents, and then he beat Hillary Clinton when it counted. He is the only person in American political history with zero backgrounds in any area of government who has been elected President. That is going to get him into the history textbooks.”

Coke, Reliance Enter Indian Dairy Drink Market

“Jallikattu” or bull-taming, is an agricultural tradition intended to conserve and improve native cattle species, now under an existential threat from imported breeds and big corporations.

From the New Indian Express:

Natives that are not grown for pride are sent for slaughter causing drastic decline in sex ratio. Jallikattu enthusiasts claim the sport help to sustain bulls for longer.

“The bulls that don’t win the game are not used for pure-breed next generation natives. Each of the strong, pure natives are used for inseminating 10-15 cows. Let’s say half the bulls win human beings. Each of these will give rise to 15 more pure natives,” says a professor of Dairy Technology at TANUVAS. Going by Rajasekaran’s number, more than a lakh-and-a-half pure natives are produced by every batch of Jallikattu bulls.

Native species do not produce as much milk as some imported species and without impregnation by the best studs, partly conserved through Jallikattu, their existence would be in doubt.

India’s largest milk producer, Amul, in Gujarat, uses Jersey cows, imported from Holland.

Meanwhile,  beverage giant, Coca-Cola, is teaming up with India’s Reliance to enter the dairy drinks market in India, this year.

With demand rising powerfully, milk will soon have to be imported along with exotic semen and other inputs needed to continue cross-breeding the native and the foreign species. More imports means higher prices making milk unaffordable to the poor; it means higher costs, making farming impossible to the marginal farmer; it means reliance on European and hybrid breeds that demand more water and are less hardy; it means foreign species’ milk that causes schizophrenia, autism and type-1 diabetes.

That’s the context needed to understand the anger at the PETA-inspired ban of Jallikattu, already heavily regulated under India’s animal protection laws.

Meet The People Behind Tamil “People-Power”

Read Previous Post:

Tamil Spring Color Revolution? Massive Protests Against Bull-Taming Ban”

In my earlier post on the subject, I mentioned that the Jallikattu protests (like the Jallikattu ban itself) seemed to be a well-organized effort, not a spontaneous outpouring.

In the first place, the constant signalling by the major media that it was “MakkalMovement,” (Makkal means people in Tamil), people-power, undirected, and spontaneous, sounded like propaganda.

Second, the epicenter of the protest was at Marina Beach in Chennai, the site of earlier Dravidian and Tamil identity protests, showing that this was a choreographed event, not happenstance.

The black outfits and flags deliberately hearkened back to the black-shirts of  early Dravida politics.

Third, the Jallikattu protest was led from the start by the urban, the young, the and sophisticated, whereas Jallikattu itself is a rural and traditional sport.

The spokesmen have been tech-savvy relatively affluent student groups, hardly representative of an uprising of rural cattle farmers.

The J-movement in fact sounds and feels like a well-funded and organized political movement.

And so it is.

From the Hindustan Times, comes a report naming the leaders of the Jallikattu uprising, which, contrary to the media, was first planned more than 3 years ago in 2013.

The starting point was a Chennai professional and bull owner with rural roots – Himakiran Alagula.

In 2013, Alagula contacted P. Rajasekharan of the Tamil Nadu Jallikattu Federation, who had been fighting for the practice for a decade.

Karthikeya Sivasenaapathy, the managing trustee of the Senaapathy Kangayam Cattle Research Foundation near Tirupur joined the team.

The founder of that institution, Kuttapalyam K. N. Saminathan was chairman of the livestock development committee of the TN government for over a decade, an MLA (Member of the Legislative Assembly or lower house of the state government), and an appointee of former TN Chief Minister and founder of the Dravidian identity movement in its current form, C. N. Annadurai.

Once a protege of Annadurai, the charismatic Lankan-born Tamil actor, M.G. Ramachandran used his enormous popularity with the masses to split the Tamil identity party – the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam or Society for the Advancement of  Dravidians)  and create the Anna DMK, using Anna’s name to propel the movement into a personality cult with a humane face.

It was also under MGR rule, a band of criminals was transformed into a Tamil liberation army (Tamil Tigers), with the assistance of Mossad.

Also under MGR, Tamil Nadu devolved into a corrupt police-state.

This transformation speeded up with MGR’s mistress and former co-star, Jayalalitha, who by the time of her death was regarded as a mother goddess- Amma.

Amma, as I pointed out earlier, is a form of Shakti, the consort of Shiva and Shiva, misconstrued as Lucifer is the presiding “deity” of the New World Order.

Thus, the original atheistic,  iconoclastic, rationalistic, anti-Brahmin Tamil movement of E.V. Ramaswamy, whom the British empire originally cultivated to break up the unity of the nascent Indian state through a false opposition of Aryan and Dravidian concocted by imperial apologists, was transformed in a few decades into a popular, religious and semi-mystical cult headed by a Karnataka-born and English convent school-bred Brahmin grand-daughter of a physician to Mysore royalty.

Jayalalitha, moreover, was brought up when young by her maternal grandparents, one of whom worked for Hindustan Aeronautics, an Indian government-owned aerospace corporation with a long history of collaboration with US defense contractors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin, which have extensively documented ties with the  intelligence agencies.

Even Annadurai, the recipient of a Yale Chubb fellowship, was hosted by the US state department,  which suggests that globalist attempts to erode Indian sovereignty through the southern state, have been continuous and long-standing.

Thus, to read that behind the “leaderless” Jallikattu protests is a protege of one of the pillars of Dravidian identity politics is to realize that the current Jallikattu protests very likely mask another face of globalist intervention in India.

The purported MakkalMovement was also joined by someone described in the Hindustan Times article as a “businessman” from Coimbatore, Balakumar Somu.

Somu shows up on the pages of the Vijayvaani website which styles itself an “internet based public opinions forum” giving a niche for independent journalism. The site is copyrighted from 2008-2013 and has a registered office at 300 Gulmohar Enclave, New Delhi. There are articles by left-wing dissident journalists like James Petras and libertarian right dissidents like Paul Craig Roberts. Both just fit into the spectrum of allowed dissent in the West and are prominent voices therein, again providing another Western link.

Somu describes himself as follows:

The author is an IT professional, animal rights activist, freelance photographer and active blogger. He is pro-active in defence of Jallikattu, a sport with over 4000 years of recorded history.”

On  Jallikattu.in, which he appears to have founded, Somu is described as an “IT professional” with “wide ranging experience in India and abroad.”

This constitutes another foreign angle to the story.

The pro-J group went on to get the backing of something called the Biodiversity Conservation Council of India, which calls itself a non-profit public charitable trust and describes its mission as bringing about the goals of the United Nations, one of the premier tools of the globalist elites:

BiCCI seeks to legally revive and promote events of bio-cultural significance like Jallikattu, Rekla Race, traditional cattle/livestock shandys, Kambala, Bailgada and conduct bio cultural events under the aegis of United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity NCBD. BiCCI strives to support rural folk including women, women’s self-help groups, tribals, who rear native breeds of cattle, train them to produce cattle by-products and provide marketing support to them.

BiCCI intends to work with the Convention on United Nations convention on biological diversity, bringing together various organisations working for the conservation of native cattle of India and “to promote the “National biodiversity act 2002”.

The team at Biodiversity Conservation Council of India includes the following individuals:

  1. Srinivas Ratnasami, a prominent Madras High Court lawyer and dog-breeder who advises the Kennel Club of India.
  2. Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, Board of Managers at TN Agricultural University at Coimbatore and managing trustee at Senapathy Kangayam Cattle Research  Foundation
  3.  Balakumar Somu, a former IT consultant from Singapore, now resident in Coimbatore, and founder of Activists for Righteous Harmony of Animals Movement (AHRAM), a blogger, and photographer.
  4. Himakiran Anugula, an entrepreneur and advocate of sustainable, organic and local practices.
  5. Saravana Kumar, an engineer who owns a construction company and several farms, resident in Madurai.
  6. Raja Marthandan, a serial entrepreneur and aficionado of organic farming and native cattle species.
  7. Sundar Ganesan, Director/Trustee at Roja Muthiah Research Library, with an interest in archival work and the preservation of heritage. The Roja Muthiah Research Library, one of the best private collections of Tamil publications has been preserved at Chennai with the help of grants  from the U.S. Department of Education, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Ford Foundation along with collaboration from the Wellcome Institute for the History of Medicine

The website is dated 2017 and 4/7 of the members seem to be the same people behind the pro-Jallikattu movement, so one wonders if the BiCCI has a substantial presence outside this particular web-page and this particular issue.

Under the tab CAMPAIGNS, one finds a few tweets about Jallikattu and nothing more, which suggests that BiCCI is simply a PR effort intended to create the impression of a substantial Indian body behind pro-Jallikattu activism.

I could be wrong, but the evidence so far suggests that a very worthy cause (the viability of Indian cattle breeds) is being used as a vehicle for Tamil identity politics intended either to revive the fortunes of the Tamil parties…..or to co-opt it for some other purpose…

Perhaps that purpose is a diversion from the dire consequences of demonetization on the informal sector.

Or it could be that the protests and ensuing commotion enable some other infiltration, or will justify intervention from the Center.

In any case, things are not as they seem.

Government Widens Financial Reporting Requirements

The government is widening the number of transactions that will be directly reported by financial institutions to the income tax division:

Reiterating its November 2016 instruction, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) in a notification dated January 17, has also asked banks to report all cash deposits of Rs 2.5 lakh or more made in one or more accounts of a person during November 9 to December 30, 2016, the 50-day window for deposits that was provided by the government following its decision to scrap high-denomination currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000.

“Cash deposits during the period November 9, 2016, to December 30, 2016, aggregating to Rs 12.50 lakh or more in one or more current account of a person (and) Rs 2.5 lakh or more in one or more account (other than a current account) of a person will have to be reported to tax authorities,” it said. Also, cash deposits during April 1, 2016, to November 9, 2016, in any account that are reportable should also be intimated to the tax authorities by January 31, 2017, the notification said.

It made it mandatory for a banking company or a cooperative bank to report cash deposits aggregating to Rs 10 lakh or more in a financial year, in one or more accounts (other than a current account and time deposit) of a person.

The tax department has also made it mandatory for a company or institution issuing bonds or debentures to report receipts from any person an amount aggregating to Rs 10 lakh or more in a financial year for acquiring bonds or debentures. A similar limit has been set for reporting purchase of shares and mutual funds.

“Buy back of shares from any person (other than the shares bought in the open market) for an amount or value aggregating to Rs 10 lakh or more in a financial year will need to be reported by a listed company,” the notification said. Purchase of foreign exchange including travellers cheque and a forex card aggregating to Rs 10 lakh would have to be reported to tax authorities.

Property registrar will have to report to tax authorities purchase or sale by any person of immovable property for an amount of Rs 30 lakh or more. Also, cash payment exceeding Rs 2 lakh for sale of goods or services of any nature will have to be reported, the CBDT’s notification said.

Banks will also have to report one or more time deposits, other than a time deposit made through renewal of another time deposit, of a person aggregating to Rs 10 lakh or more in a financial year, the CBDT said.

Payment made in cash for purchase of bank drafts or pay orders or banker’s cheque of an amount aggregating Rs 10 lakh or more in a financial year as well as payments made in cash aggregating Rs 10 lakh or more during a year for purchase of prepaid instruments issued by RBI need to be reported.

A banking company or a cooperative bank would also have to report cash deposits or cash withdrawals (including via bearer’s cheque) aggregating Rs 50 lakh or more in a financial year, in or from one or more current account of a person.”
