None of the brave, brave souls of the white-faced anti-colonial cancel culture would EVER talk about the identity and activities of the billionaires and trillionaires behind the current neo-colonial policies that are ravaging the former colonies of the British Empire. Oh, but these heroes are attacking where it matters, old warhorse Kipling and beloved children’s author Enid Blyton.

They need to take their slick hands off  colonial. Kipling was an Indo-Anglian author, racial prejudice and all. He may have been a racist, but he was also a sensitive lover of India’s villages and village folk,  her jungle lore, and her varied landscapes. Enid Blyton  is part of middle-class Indian kids’ imaginative world.

The move drew criticism from some on social media.

Criminal intent

From the analysis of the scene of the crime and the nature and site of the fatal shot, it is concluded that the crime was committed intentionally:

The site of injury in the victim’s body is between the protective jacket and the helmet, just below the ear, a sensitive position vulnerable only to an experienced sniper,

Israeli forces continued to shoot at anyone who tried to rescue her. Ambulance personnel reported the presence of signs of shooting on the tree next to where the victim was killed, at chest/head height.

Analysis of the images received from the crime scene, the respective locations of the victim, the Israeli forces and the Palestinian resistance fighters, the trajectory of the bullet as revealed by the Autopsy Report and the crime scene, and the Autopsy Report itself, reveals that:

Journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh was exposed to a single bullet that penetrated the head and the bullet returned to the head after exiting because it hit the inner layer of the helmet.

The shooting was not random, but rather focused and precise, and this is confirmed by the convergence of holes in the tree trunk that was next to the body of the victim, Shireen Abu Aqleh.

The perpetrator of the killing of journalist Shireen Abu Aqleh is without doubt the Israeli army, given the trajectory of the bullet, the respective locations of the victim, the Israeli soldiers, and the Palestinian resistance, as well as the impossibility of the victim being hit by any other party in a space controlled by the Israeli occupation.

The report recommends the following:

The bullet extracted from the victim’s body must be examined and compared with the weapons involved in this crime,
The identity of the shooter must be established,
This procedure requires an international commission of inquiry with the power to force the Israeli occupation to hand over the weapons carried by its soldiers on the day of the crime in Jenin.

Scott Walter On Jane Mayer’s Fraudulent Journalism

In her last book, Dark Money: The Hidden History of the Billionaires Behind the Rise of the Radical Right, Mayer bewails the “100 biggest known donors in 2014,” who spent “nearly as much money on behalf of their candidates as the 4.75 million people who contributed $200 or less.” Who were those terrible donors? Mayer says, “A few of the biggest spenders were now Democrats.”

Check her source in the endnotes, and you find how many “a few” equals:

Donors who gave exclusively or primarily to Democratic candidates and groups held down 52 of the top 100 spots—including by far the biggest donor of disclosed 2014 cash: retired San Francisco hedge fund billionaire Tom Steyer.

I chose Mayer’s “a few” as the worst lie in the book, but I had to write a long review to catalog all her other distortions and falsehoods. One book chapter had previously appeared as a New Yorker hit piece, and my earlier dissection of that partisan journalism drew this response from John Hinderaker of Powerline:

Walter’s article was perhaps the most devastating refutation of a magazine article I have ever read. In a calm, dispassionate manner, he laid waste to Mayer to a degree that in a more just world would end her career in journalism.

Hinderaker asked readers to leave comments at Mayer’s blog, begging her to respond, but of course she refused. Silence is golden when you’re a wealthy New Yorker from a famous banking family, writing for prestige media whose business model is to give an overpaid, underinformed audience only what it wants to hear.

** INDONESIA made inoculations mandatory in February, warning that anyone who refused to be vaccinated could be denied social assistance or government services or be made to pay a fine.

* MICRONESIA, a small South Pacific island nation, mandated in July that its adult population be inoculated.

** TURKMENISTAN has made vaccination mandatory for all residents aged 18 and over.

GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR WORKERS

** CANADA in October said it would place unvaccinated federal employees on unpaid leave and require COVID-19 shots for air, train and ship passengers. It will also require all its 338 lawmakers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 when they return to work on Nov. 22.

** COSTA RICA in September mandated all state workers to be vaccinated.

** EGYPT will mandate public sector workers to either be vaccinated or take a weekly coronavirus test to be allowed to work in government buildings after Nov. 15.

FIJI introduced a “no jab, no job” policy in August, with unvaccinated public servants forced to go on leave and subsequently dismissed if still unvaccinated by November. Employees at private firms could also face fines and companies could be forced to stop operations over vaccine refusals.

** HUNGARY, which earlier made COVID shots mandatory for healthcare workers, said in October it would also require employees at state institutions to be vaccinated ..

** ITALY made COVID-19 health passes mandatory for all workers in October. Workers unable to show proof of vaccination, a negative test or recent recovery from infection would be suspended without pay and face a fine if they try to keep working.

** LATVIA on Nov. 4 allowed businesses to fire workers who refuse to either get a vaccine or transfer to remote work.
** RUSSIA’s capital Moscow ordered all workers with public-facing roles to be vaccinated in June, giving companies a month to ensure at least 60% of staff had received first doses, while St. Petersburg on Nov. 9 ordered mandatory vaccination for people over 60 and those with chronic illnesses.

** SAUDI ARABIA in May mandated that all public and private sector workers wishing to attend a workplace get vaccinated. People must also be vaccinated in order to enter any government, private, or educational establishment.

** TUNISIA in October mandated officials, employees and visitors to show a card proving inoculation to access public and private administrations. Unvaccinated employees would be suspended from their job until they are able to present the pass.

** TURKEY began demanding negative COVID-19 tests and proof of vaccination for some sectors in August, including teachers and domestic travel employees.

** UKRAINE in October made vaccinations compulsory for public sector employees including teachers. The unvaccinated also face restrictions on access to restaurants, sports and other public events.

** UNITED STATES President Joe Biden on Sept. 10 ordered all federal workers and contractors to be vaccinated. A mandate that private-sector workers be vaccinated or tested weekly will be enforced from Jan. 4.

New Cambridge Study Of Disinformation Is Full Of Disinformation

The latest effort of the academic-media complex to steer citizens in the direction that the powers-that-be prefer comes in the shape of “The Disinformation Age,” edited by Lance Bennett and Steven Livingston, Cambridge University Press, 2021.

Despite the prestigious publisher, a cursory glance is enough to tell me that this is the usual reverse-engineered history, by which I mean that the authors already know what their conclusions are going to be and are determined to rewrite history to fit them.

Just one small example. The book dwells on the influence of the Koch brothers on the establishment libertarian think-tanks like the Mercator Center and the Cato Institute, NEVER mentioning that that “beltway libertarianism” is only one form of right libertarianism, and not the most radical or convincing by any means. That brand of libertarianism is in fact constantly criticized by anarchist libertarians as well as by minarchists.

What’s more, the Cambridge book has the nerve to source the term “Kochtopus,” coined by the libertarians at Mises.org/Lew Rockwell, to the New Yorker’s Jane Mayer, whose use of it came several years later and whose knowledge of the whole history of the Kochtopus is at second-hand, filtered through liberal-left tropes, and filled with suspicious gaps and elisions.

Mayer, a documentedly uninformed and lazy investigator got the whole Kochtopus network notion from bloggers who picked it up from the Ron Paul libertarians, which included me at the time, whom Matt Taibbi, a fellow left-lib journalist, was following, plagiarizing, and misrepresenting.

According to  this Cambridge disinfo guide, “Kochtopus” is the term Jane Mayer “likes to call the network”…. no mention of the piddling fact that dozens if not hundreds of people had analyzed the network and called it that long before she did, all of them with a world-view diametrically opposite hers.

The charge of plagiarism surfaced fairly soon, but the New Yorker did its own misleading pseudo- investigation and came to the unsurprising conclusion that there was no there there.

Not surprising, since Mayer is a prime product of the nepotistic and incestuous media culture.

InfluenceWatch tells us the following:

Mayer’s maternal grandfather was Allan Nevins, founder of American Heritage magazine and winner of two Pulitzer Prizes. Mayer’s great-great-grandfather was Emanuel Lehman, who founded the investment bank Lehman Brothers. [15]

That’s who decides what’s disinformation and what isn’t. Plagiarists and propagandists live in a bubble all their lives, sheltered from any necessity to defend their ideas honestly, and the result is false, empty history.

NE India, Bangla Cropland Devastated By Unusual Flooding, Rains

Days of heavy rainfall and flooding have left dozens dead and tens of thousands stranded in many parts of Bangladesh and neighbouring India.

In the northeastern Sylhet region of Bangladesh, floodwaters breached a major embankment, inundating dozens of villages and killing at least 10 people, local media reports said on Sunday.

More than 150 roads in the region were completely submerged, cutting off many areas and causing massive damage to the infrastructure, Bangladesh’s Daily Star newspaper reported.

In some areas, the floodwater had started receding on Sunday but many rivers were still flowing above danger levels.

Villagers said they had lost their homes and crops due to the flooding.

China Cancelling Christians On The Web

Christian websites in China have been suspended as new digital content regulations take effect.

The measures, which require internet users who wish to post religious content to obtain a permit, were introduced in March in an attempt to regulate religious content posted online. The Christian charity Open Doors says the move is “tightening the screws on China’s churches and Christian media.”

A licence is only available for state-approved religious institutions such as the Three Self Patriotic Movement and Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association.

Open Doors says: “The goal is to further limit the scope of public sharing of faith and to force all religions to align with Chinese socialism.”

Domestic Terrorism Act Passed By House Along Party Lines

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a sweeping new bill to expand the federal government’s ability to spy on Americans in the alleged effort to combat “domestic terrorism.”

H.R. 350, or the “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act,” was passed in a 222-203 vote almost entirely along party lines, with all House Democrats and just one House Republican, Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, voting to approve the measure.
